Hi everyone.

This is my first mini quad build, having built a tricopter a few years ago. I recently got back into multirotors a few months ago and I was surprised by how much the technology has progressed. When I built my tricopter 32 bit flight controllers didn't even exist.

Onto the build.

Parts List:

• Diatone #31 Silver Blade 240 Glass Frame
  
• DYS 1806 motors
  
• Emax 12A speed controllers
  
• Naze32 Rev5 Acro Flight Contoller
  
• Turnigy Nano-Tech 1300mah 45C 3S
  
• 5045 props
  

Parts to Buy:

• Runcam Skyplus FPV Camera
  
• Aomway 200mw Video Transmitter
  
• Skyzone Goggles
  

Currently I'm LOS as I don't currently have any FPV gear. My transmitter is a Spektrum DX6i which I have had for years and has served me well.



Frame built and ready for components.



DYS 1806 motors fitted.



Soldered the Naze32, ready to be fitted.



Bought a few Nano-Techs 3S lipos.



All finished for now, this is after I tidied up the wiring but there is still some to go.

Feel free to make any suggestions.

Looks like a solid build would be great to get some pictures up

Looks like a good build from my little knowledge.

You say you're looking to get the Runcam FPV cam and the Aomway 200mW VTX. Just a quick thing, I can't find either of these in stock anywhere in the UK. If you're based in the UK too, I'd be happy to go halves on an order that you make if you double up, so we can reduce the international shipping cost, if that's something you'd have to pay. PM me if interested.

I was going to order them from Banggood which is free shipping anyway. The only problem is customs charges but I've ordered from HK a few times and never had a problem. My orders have always been small which may be the reason I have never been charged.

I've just done a quick weight check on the quad with and without the battery, pictures below:



316 grams without the battery (no FPV gear yet)




430 grams with a 1300 mAh 3S lipo.

Once I have my FPV gear and recording camera I expect the weight to be over 500 grams.

great clean build just make sure you don't crash to hard fibre glass is a bit fragile

Hamster would you recommend this frame or go for something like a ZMR 250 ?

I would go with the ZMR as it is carbon.

Went out and flew LOS for a few packs yesterday. Only had one crash and it didn't even break a prop, I lost orientation and hit the ground.



A mate of mine also flew a 450 quad which ended up with a missing prop.



A decent morning of flying, it's the first time I've tried full throttle and I didn't realise just how powerful it is 4S must be crazy.

looks like a fun meet up the frame looks empty, need to fill it up with FPV gear hehe

Sometime next week hopefully, my FPV gear is currently stuck halfway across the world. Also managed to get some Dominators from eBay.

The owner must be a bad ass

Got a pair of Dominator V1 goggles from eBay for a decent price, so all I'm waiting for now is my camera and transmitter. The goggles themselves are in really good condition and haven't been used much.
