I thought the HD video section but its' really about after the HD video... So question. For those of you who upload videos to youtube and add backing music, what do you usually do about copyright? I've got 3 videos that have been flagged for copyright and only one has any blocks, plus I never planned to monetize my videos so if they monetize them and get money for my using their music that's actually a good thing! Of course there is also the use of music with more appropriate licensing. But if you use that, what services do you use to find that music? And then there is what I've done on one video and plan to do on my next 2 videos: use original pieces. This option would be great for me because I have a history of making music but the style doesn't always match the FPV vibe enough... maybe I am just being too picky because I am so close to the music.. Or maybe I need to make my 4th album in a new style that'd be good for FPV videos. carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 • Posts: 2,416 Threads: 51 Likes Received: 1,861 in 1,175 posts Likes Given: 3,315 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 74 01-May-2017, 08:40 AM (This post was last modified: 01-May-2017, 08:43 AM by sloscotty.) You can use YouTube's own audio archive in video manager. I've done this, but there is a downside: when using YT video manager to edit and add music to your videos, they will add advertisements to your video. I've also used music from http://freemusicarchive.org/ . You will need to "attribute" the music in the description of your video, but they give you the text you need to add. Another source I've used is music from the Internet Archives: https://archive.org/details/audio . Some of it will require attribution as well. All of these you can search by genre, length, artist, etc. (Unfortunately, there is no "FPV" genre...yet!) And before adding music to edit, check in https://www.youtube.com/music_policies it will show you if it will cause the video to be blocked in any way. Worth checking even if you are going to use a remix. In fact I'd prefer to attribute even if I am not required to. I like music and would rather share what music I am using than to try to bury it. So all are great advice! carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 • Posts: 5,315 Threads: 672 Likes Received: 3,155 in 1,743 posts Likes Given: 2,030 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 01-May-2017, 10:40 AM (This post was last modified: 01-May-2017, 10:40 AM by Oscar.) By all means - show who is the creator by posting a link or whatever else is needed and if Google/artist wants to monetize your traffic in that case - it's perfectly fine. You just don't want to get your video blocked in 99 countries and mobile Yeah, I didn't mean to suggest you were suggesting that (metasuggestion?) I haven't been putting attribution in my video descripttions before because I didn't want to call myself out. After I looked at my copyright page I realized they called me out without a description so I am OK to attribute now. I definitely don't want to be blocked... although with horizons it's blocked in China but I don't know many Chinese people except for the people that I know in the US and even then I probably know more Korean and Indian people than Chinese folks :p carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 Posts: 23 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 8 in 3 posts Likes Given: 1 Joined: May 2017 Reputation: 0 free music archive is very good • |
