I had some free time, so I build a turnable car out of heaps of copter parts and junk I had laying around.
I tried to drive it with a CD player motor, but it was way underpowered, so I dug up almost dead DYS BE1806 2300kv motor and slapped it onto this one. Using it with my spare littlebee ESC also enabled me to drive backwards - I set it up as "reversible".
Parts used:
Aluminium frame with a ton of hot glue
Front "axle" made from plastic stick + instamorph "spindles"
DYS BE1806 driven by Littlebee 20A (bidirectional setup).
Transmission: rubberband and bottlecaps
TowardPro MG996R servo (9kg overkill - can rip entire project apart LOL)
Pololu 2A 5V reg
Flysky RX <- also acts as a 5v "pdb"
Runcam HD1 (as FPV cam, no antivibration obviously)
SLS 1000mah 3s pack
Eachine VTX
It works
Front axles from baloon sticks. Hot glued metal M3 screws and IKEA beads made bushings/bearings. Spindles made from instamorph and IKEA beads.
That's how steering mechanism looks detached:
2300kv motor is obviously too fast, at least with this simple "transmission". I had to limit throttle channel to 50% in both directions. It's still hard to control
Tidy enough? ;p
That's my first RC car - I have been asked to make a RC platform able to carry a DJI Ronin gimbal with a regular cinema camera (800x600mm planned), so that one is also my research toward ground vehicles Obviously more parts are needed on platform this big, like a servo saver, brakes (doh!) or any kind of differential but can be omitted on something that small.

Find me on Youtube and Instagram. I currently fly: DRC Aura, NOX5R, Minimalist 112 and drive a scrap RC car
