0 12-Apr-2017, 02:17 AM (This post was last modified: 12-Apr-2017, 02:19 AM by Coltron5000.) Upon opening my two recent nano quad purchases, I found myself quickly trying to pull off stunts or fly in tight spaces like in between chair legs or around corners, and it made me wonder if anyone has gone all-out on creating an obstacle course specifically designed for multirotors. The closest thing I've seen so far would have to be from this video by Dude Perfect:
If you have built anything like this yourself or know someone who has, please share! I would love to see pictures or hear new ideas.

31 Sounds almost like gymkhana... I was going to try to find a youtube video of it but all I seem to be able to find is the ken block guy and his show-off videos.
I think an obstacle course (rather than just race gates) could be a lot of fun... For example elements that include landing the quad in a specific area, or hovering within a specific space for a certain amount of seconds... possibly doing flips while traveling through certain gates etc... dodging flying projectiles... The whole slow is fast concept, or proximity flying meets racing.
TBH though, I haven't run into anything more technical than a basic race course with tight elements, gates, verticals such as what unseen is suggesting above. Maybe it's time to come up with a new branch of racing!

0 I'd love to have some of those racing gates once I have my build finished, but I was thinking more along the lines of what Vegas said. I really like the ideas of dodging projectiles, or maybe a gauntlet system, as well as hovering in a specified spot for a certain amount of time. I feel like both of those could be utilized well. Hmm.. let the brainstorming begin. Lol
Maybe one could fly a drone on to a balanced cart on the top of a track and let the weight of the drone roll it to a new spot you have to take off from... Rube Goldberg style. Or maybe try circling a moving object.. oh, the possibilities.

31 A great course designer for this would be able to make it so that a mavic could be competitive with a light weight beast of a quad.
