Motors not spooling up.....
#1
Greetings all….have had a bit of a brain fart here.  I am nearing completion on my current build and I am having a bit of a problem calibrating the ESC’s……for that matter even recognizing them.  Set up is as follows:

FC: X-Racer v3.1
ESC’s: Flycolor Raptor BLS series 30A
Motors: Emax 2205 2300kv

FC has the following firmware loaded: BetaFlight/X_RACERSPI 3.0.1 Oct 18 2016 / 10:40:35 (48b7b4f)
I am using BLHeli Suite 16.514.8.0.0

Problem……motors will not spool up.  Trying to access them through Betaflight they just act like they aren’t there.  I think pass though is working, but when I try and use BLHeli to read or check the current version on the ESC’s I get the following error:

The motors remain completely still and silent until I turn the transmitter on.  As long as it’s on, Motor number four will twitch and slowly revolve.  Doesn’t matter if it’s armed or not. I suspect I am doing something really stupid and if someone could point that out to me I would be grateful.  Thanks Guys!!

Sirdude, I just looked at your build thread again. You've got your esc's connected to the wrong side of the XRacer FC. Should go to the PWM1-4 instead of CH1-4.

Ok...well that' s embarrassing. I even thought that and went back and looked at the diagram in the manual and miss read it a second time. I don't believe I did that. Thanks Scotty...with mistakes like that, I think I'm gonna take a break from quad building for a while. Thanks for getting me straight.

Almost did it myself (same board).  Don't feel bad, and don't stop now - it's close! Smile

Ahahah I was there yesterday while changing one ESC set to another. All ESCs placed, + - and motor wires soldered up, checked ESC numbering, chopped motor 1 signal ot length, pulled my soldering iron, grabbed pincers and WTF? why arent there any soldering blobs on those pinholes?

Oops it says CH1 xD

Same board BTW ;p
Find me on Youtube and Instagram. I currently fly: DRC Aura, NOX5R, Minimalist 112 and drive a scrap RC car
