Motor stop immediately when I drop throttle
#1
I have the XNova 2206-2000 motors and when I throttle up its all good but when I drop throttle I feel like they stop almost immediately.
That looks a bit abnormal to me, shouldn't they spin a little afterwards just from sheer force from the rotation? Is there a setting I can change so they don't go from on to off so quickly?

I'm asking because my old quad didn't do this, those motors seemed to slow down slower.

I have the TBS BULLETPROOF 20A ESC's that come with the Team Black-Sheep PowerCube by the way if that helps

It's not the motors. It's your ESCs. Your esc's have active breaking enabled. And it's a good thing! It makes your quad fly a lot better.

I see thank you Smile

there are just so many settings when building from scratch lol. I'll look in clean flight for that. I know there are programs to flash an esc but clean flight can handle settings right? Btw I have the TBS PowerCube setup which I'm really liking so far

is it the OneShot125 settings in cleanflight? should I disable that?

You can't change the ESC settings in cleanflight. You need to use BLHeli.
Oneshot has nothing to do with active breaking or freewheeling.

For many escs you can use blheli suite through a cleanflight flashed flight controller and not have to remove/disconnect your escs
