Does it happen when you apply a small amount of throttle? It is probably just the pid controller trying to do its job.

Yes, but it keeps spooling up, strange job. How do I fix it?

I had this problem with my quad, I seem to remember it had something to do with min_throttle in betaflight being set incorrectly. Not 100% sure on this though, its been awile. Just doing a quick search on google some people say that airmode being enabled will cause this, might check that.

Does it happen on the bench without props? If so, it's perfectly fine. Like I said, the pid controller is trying to compensate for a small gyro-offset resulting in motors spool up.

Props on. All the videos I watched seemed easy enough. A setting must be wrong. I also have a DYS Elf, it is working fine for the most part. No way this thing will fly as it is, frustrating. Thanks for your help.

I have two primary quads I fly, both with BF 3.2.  When left ARMED in AIR mode, the motors will slowly spin up for the reason oyvinla states.  AIR mode attempts to allow the motors to idle while still maintaining attitude control.  Everything goes through the gyro.  My "MODE" switch really only controls whether AIR mode is active or not.  When AIR is deactivated, the quad should idle with no slow increase on any of the motors.

When landing on uneven surface, it helps to be able to do it without AIR mode attempting to keep the craft at any particular orientation so that it can roll to match the surface angle.

As a test, disable AIR and check for the behavior.  If it is no longer an issue, there is the answer! Smile

Thanks, I'll double check my modes, for now it acts like that in every flight mode. They look correct in beta flight.

Checked, everything looks right, motors still spool up, have to disarm it to stop them. What could be wrong?

Does it spool up to the point that the quad lifts off the ground and just keep on going?

Heck yes, my hand is on it, I have to disarm it.

Very strange, my DYS Elf was fine, started rolling right after take off. Now it also spools up in all three modes, like it's trying to self destruct, like the other drone. I'm new to this, what's going on?

What is your min_throttle set at?
If you can post a dump file we can better help diagnose the problem

Will try to figure that out.
Throttle, factory setting, 1100 I believe.
Why would a perfectly fine drone have the same problem suddenly? Is it a radio problem?

Sometimes there are just "ghosts in the machines" lol. Ive had a couple FC that after config flew fine then went wonky for no apparent reason only to find some settings are different. Its rare but has happened. We put some rather sensitive electronics in undesirable conditions Tongue
