0 09-Apr-2023, 09:27 PM (This post was last modified: 09-Apr-2023, 10:08 PM by Mugen_G.) Ok...so I've looked into the bizarre world of LDARC motors...
And I'm confused...
I have a lil 3inch quad that runs 1103 6500kv motors on 3S.
I've noticed with the stock tune they run very warm and seem to transfer all their heat to the bolts...(very close to hot) on 65mm props.
I've recently came into possession of some of their 1105 5000kv motors rated for 3-4S. I can't find much info on the 1103's beyond the bare specs
The 1105's pull 10.29A I'm assuming normally (max pull?)
Originally my idea was to "Upgrey" the 1103's with the 1105's but not knowing the max amp pull on the 1105's makes me now hesitant. Then the 1103's would be reused on a 2inch build with a 12A ESC.
So basically what I'm asking... without a full spec sheet of the 1103's would it be foolish to think this 6500kv motor can be ran on 2S on a 12A ESC?

100 09-Apr-2023, 10:00 PM (This post was last modified: 09-Apr-2023, 10:01 PM by hugnosed_bat.) i run a 1103 8000kv on 3inch 2s on a 5a rated esc. there is always a peak amp which an esc can handle for a few seconds. maybe i does reach 5amps rarely.
6500kv is very low kv, they wont reach 5amps, but they might be slow on short blades. 12a is about double what you will need, thats save.
ldarc provides pretty decent quality motors, at least in the past the ones i got are all made by sunnysky.

I like ldarc just based on that little 3 inch...
I would describe is as "furious"...lol
I've yet to receive the 2 inch frame. If it allows for 2.5's then I'll definitely run those.
But it's good to know they will work on the 2 inch...

121 09-Apr-2023, 10:08 PM (This post was last modified: 09-Apr-2023, 10:13 PM by Lemonyleprosy.) I highly doubt that the 1103 6500kv motors are going to pull anywhere near 12A on 2s with 2” props.
Can’t guarantee anything, but I think you’ll be just fine.
As a side note, those 1105’s are only rated for 3s, not 4s.
They pull 10.29A (10.59A?) peak on 3s while spinning the LDARC “King Kong” 2345 props. (2.3” props, 4.5” pitch)
If you’re running 3” props with a a similarly aggressive pitch, you can expect a higher peak amp draw. If you’re running 3” low to moderate pitch props, you can still expect a higher amp draw, but not by much. My eCalc subscription expired so I can’t run the actual numbers for you.
What’s the esc rating on the 3” that will be getting the 1105’s?
Dangerous operations.
Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about.
I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose.

0 Your correct, only 3S.
The ESC for the 3 is rated at 12A max.
It's practically identical to the Matek in the LDARC except it's by notoriously bobo jehmcu...lol

Edit- may not be necessary, but, I don’t like to push the limits of electronics, especially not on brands that aren’t known for quality.
Dangerous operations.

388 Looks like the 5000kV is 2-3S and the 4250kV is 3-4S.

0 Looking through my stash I only have 2 sets of GF3016's
And 2 sets of GF 3051's! But those are 5mm so can't use them anyway.
So will do on the 3's just need a few more sets.

27 In general, higher KV, lower winding resistance, higher amps.
On light 3" biblade.
1204 5000kv 4S will be about 6A.
1204 10,000kv 2S will be about 12A
1103 is smaller .. like 1202.5 size.. so even lower power.
but be carefull, dont overprop.
2207 bargain motor vs premium is small difference.
Tiny motors, its big difference in windings and quality.. one will do 200g thrust.. other will do 150g or smoke.
