Hey all, welcome to my 3rd build thread Rage240LR Got me another Rage frame from smartshapes, this time a 240mm lowrider, or chop-top as some call it. To get it a bit cheaper i actually only ordered the main plates and spacers, but still got sent some extras: Rest of the parts list so far: - Motors: RCX2206 2400kV
- Escs: Aikon 30a with "cap removed"-option from rtfq Hobbywing xrotor 30a blheli-s
- FC: Flip32 F4 (can take battery power, so no real PDB needed) undecided yet
- VTX: Hawkeye 32ch, aomway antenna
- RX: Lemon sat with long antennas
- Cam: Runcam Owl mini old sony 600tvl ccd w/ metal case
- Props: HQ5545, maybe trying KK6040 later
FC, escs and motors are still on the way. Decided to quickly stick the frame together to have a look: I think, after this one, i slowly but surely am reaching the point where i have enough quads... What is USPS doing with my RTFQ package? They transport it forth and back... by bycicle or what lol? And why is it stuck there since a week i.e. what does "Arrived at unit" mean? that's not where i live. I did several orders from them before, always same cheapest shipping, never took longer than 6 days. Gives me a bad feeling wether this ever arrives here in switzerland. RTFQ support known to be inexistent. • Posts: 634 Threads: 56 Likes Received: 335 in 196 posts Likes Given: 183 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 15 (31-Jan-2017, 10:10 AM)sloscotty Wrote: ... No progress regarding the order, tracking says it's still sitting in Largo FL after 2 weeks. And of course RTFQuads does not respond to email... well i knew before that their customer service is non-existent, but so far i didn't need it. Sigh... will give it a few more days, but i fear it'll be the first time i'll have to go for paypal refund. EDIT: Sent another mail to RTFQ Feb.16th, but i don't expect an answer. But i'll give it another few days. EDIT: And submitted a search request on USPS.com ... About the build... will use one of my old heavier fpv-cams, as i just can't figure out a good way to mount the owl mini. The sony cam will go well with the side plates. • Posts: 1,149 Threads: 50 Likes Received: 704 in 450 posts Likes Given: 1,189 Joined: Sep 2016 Reputation: 30 25-Feb-2017, 12:15 PM (This post was last modified: 25-Feb-2017, 12:20 PM by fftunes.) No update on tracking, and also no response from USPS, other than an automated search request confirmation mail. Tsss... Anyway... even though i can hardly afford anything right now, wanna continue the build, so this had to be: Local shop had them for a good price. From what i hear, these escs use best mosfets on the market. And they're tiny! Even slightly smaller than Kiss18a, and ds600-ready. Will go for multishot first though. • Posts: 1,149 Threads: 50 Likes Received: 704 in 450 posts Likes Given: 1,189 Joined: Sep 2016 Reputation: 30 03-Mar-2017, 10:18 PM (This post was last modified: 03-Mar-2017, 10:27 PM by fftunes.) Did a first test with soft mounted motors today. Hard mounted FC, 1 motor, unbalanced reverse 5545 prop. Raw gyro roll axis, motor hard mounted (top) and soft mounted (bottom) Comparison looks promising. For now i'll use an oldish CC3D Atom w/ case which will be taped in. • Posts: 2,410 Threads: 136 Likes Received: 1,790 in 1,052 posts Likes Given: 3,302 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 50 Where can I find some of these 3d printed motor soft mounts? • Posts: 1,149 Threads: 50 Likes Received: 704 in 450 posts Likes Given: 1,189 Joined: Sep 2016 Reputation: 30 07-Mar-2017, 07:43 AM (This post was last modified: 07-Mar-2017, 07:44 AM by fftunes.)
