No. It looks in perfect condition, so something is fried in the internals only. With a LiPo plugged in I get LiPo voltage on the VIN pin of the regulator, but no voltage out of the VOUT pin (well, 0.4V but that may as well be zero). So it's a dodo.

Yep, that's pretty conclusive it's the regulator that's dead, alright.

There are only one or two people who appear to have done this and none have explicitly stated they had any issues (yet), unless they just haven't got round to properly testing the reliability of it.
