Miniquad tuning.
#1
Hi All

I'm a newbie and hope not to upset anyone for posting this question in the wrong place !   Apologies if I do. Thinking   Huh

Is it better to set up expo and rc rates etc . . . in Cleanflight or on Transmitter as I have done for years when flying RC model planes ?

Brief details  . . .   250 Miniquad using Naze32 control board and Cleanflight for setting up.

Set them in Cleanflight. If you use the transmitter to set expo, you will lose stick resolution....at least that is the way it works with the Taranis. I would ASSuME it is similar with other brands.

sirdude is right on the money.  I've always heard the same.  Even though the exponential curve "appears" like a true curve, remember that these are digital devices, and if you set expo at the transmitter, it will increase the values between the "steps" of the position of the sticks, essentially reducing the overall resolution of the control stick.  (Especially at the bottom and top of the stick travel).

Just my 2 cents

Hi sirdude & illushinz  !

Thank you both for your quick replies which are really appreciated  !     Thumbs Up

When I don't fully understand something I seek guidance and in this case although I don't fully understand how the system works I will certainly follow the advice and do my set up in Cleanflight.

I forgot to mention my radio in my post which is a Turnigy 9XR Pro.

Thanks again for your very quick answers folks ! ! !     Happy Flying  !     Cool

Kind Regards . . . Yoda
