Mini Cam OSD hack question
#1
I have an S2 mini FPV AIO that I will be using on a new whoop size build. My FC has on onboard OSD but my mini does not have  VI-VO I know it is a simple matter of tapping into them and was looking around for a pinout or video. I came across several YouTube vids of just that and all is good.
The question is, when I saw this video  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xa4eAbrAPSo  the guy does not cut and separate the original video connection he just piggy backs on it.  Is that OK ??  All of the other hacks cut the connection between the cam and vtx and this makes perfect sense.
He does show it working, but I think it's wrong. It sure would be a lot easier though.

Thoughts ? opinions ?

Thanks

Scott

According to the comments, two guys did actually as the video and it works. Although one of the guy say it stopped working two months later. Anyway, I believe cutting the circuit is the better way to go.

I might try it on a full system just to see.

Thanks for the reply.
I think I might try it as well. This will be an indoor winter time whoop. So if I loose my video feed, no big deal. I would hate to loose signal out side and have a flyaway.

Well I tried it. I did not cut the video signal between Cam and VTX, just piggybacked on to both sides.
It seems to work.
I guess time will tell.

No, It appears to be fine. I finished the build so I may try to fly outside later if the wind dies down. Although it is not going to go much above freezing today.
I would rather do the maiden flight outside. My indoor "skilz" would not be a fair test. Wink

I will post some more pics in the brushed section
