Micro MinimOSD VideoIN shorts to GROUND?
#1
I've found a bit of an odd problem. My Micro MinimOSDs (All three of them) have VideoIN shorting to ground, that makes me a bit reluctant to plug mine in, but I'm not sure if it's normal or not? It's present on 3 separate boards from 2 suppliers.

I can't find any documentation about this anywhere else. Can someone please explain what's going on here?

I think it's normal, someone knows the MAX chip better might be able to explain why... but it's not really a short and there is some resistance between Video in and GND...

I checked mine and vout or vin are not shorted to ground. On the other hand, them being shorted to GND will at most give you no image, but shouldn't damage anything.

try to actually measure the value of the resistance, rather than just checking for shorts... have you actually tried it with a camera and VTX yet?

No, not yet. I'm in the process of installing it now. I was worried that I'd screwed the soldering up with the one I did myself. It was only after I got the next two units that I figured it was actually supposed to be like that, but I'd still really like to know why ...

I once had the same concerns. But it is totally fine, the resistance is like 54 or 74 ohms if I remember it correctly.
