Linked to below for those who haven't already watched it. There are already some interesting comments under the video.

Bruce has pulled apart the FAA interview with Michael Rollins and made a good analysis of the some of the FAA's responses in his video below. If you didn't get time to watch the original interview video then this one is probably worth a watch.

So how many of these drone interactions with either aircraft or people do you know about?

...

Well ... there's been a lot more drone sightings recently as there has been an increase in drone usage ...

I’m gonna laugh my a** off when some kids grandparent buys a drone (camera/gps style)as a birthday / Christmas gift.. kid goes out flies it, it has a rx loss, it flies off.. Due to the cost, they call the authorities (lost/missing). The drone sets down / crashes on a airport or military base…..
Knock knock… “We found your drone….”
Would LOVe to see how that encounter ends

Well this has been Xjet's / Bruce's thing all along right. That the FAA is calling this stuff dangerous but can't produce a single risk assessment study or any study for that matter that shows there X number of fatal incidence involving drones, Y number involving people, T number resulting in injuries, K number resulting in deaths, $Z of property damage, etc etc. I don't doubt that this isn't some capitalist cabal of Amazon, et al cutting deals with the FAA in a cigar smokey back room full of fat old people in suits ... but damn guys, can you at least come up with a decent enough answer to, "prove it."

I mean, make some ish up for cryin out loud lol. Just don't look like such a dumb ass. It's like a 5th grader trying to pass off a book report on a book they didnt read lol.

Wanna laugh: This is what the Australian CASA says about FPV: https://www.casa.gov.au/drones/rules/first-person-view

“Flying FPV limits your situational awareness and may lead to disorientation. Flying FPV increases the risk of the drone colliding with trees, people, birds or even other aircraft. Without situational awareness, you may not be able to manoeuvre the drone in time to prevent a collision.”

FPV is the most dangerous activity on Earth Smile

i am dangerous if someone destroy my hobbys legality xD

fpv seems like fireworks, bo controll ar all after take off :-)

how are fireworks described in australia?

as fireworks has tradition, are very stupid about safety, but a huge group with force does practice; its the best example how stupid and reckless these organisations are, science is far away...

Sydney's New Years Eve fireworks are a huge event but they will always justify that because they will claim it is "run by professionals".

For FPV, its so easy if someone wants to report you through CASA:

This is exactly why if you end up with anyone confronting you while out flying you need to keep your mouth shut and say very little or nothing at all until they get bored and just go on their merry way. If a confrontation starts to escalate then just try to diffuse the situation while you pack up your stuff and then quickly and quietly leave. Unless they are law enforcement then they have no right to any information from you and no right to keep you there.

I don't agree with the community trying to educate the general public. The less that Joe Public knows what the real rules and regulations are the better IMO. Let them guess all they want or end up neck deep trying to find the information themselves online. Definitely don't give them any help or links as to where to find that information themselves. And always keep in mind that most FPV pilots are flying illegally in one respect or another so all you will end up doing is to help them realise what rules it is you are breaking so they will then have some concrete ammunition against you if they want to use it.
