Meteor75Pro beeper and flight modes/turtle
#1
Hi all -
Being an RC fix wing flyer for over 20 years, I decided to look into FPV, and decided to get a Meteor75Pro as my first drone.  I've had my 75Pro analog (FrySky) for about a month now, setup using Captain Drone's newbie youtube video.  Here are my problem/questions:
  1. Beeper on aux5 is so faint, I can barely hear it when sitting on the desk in front of me:  where do I increase the volume?
  2. I see no difference in Angle/Horizon/Acro modes (ie bank angles for all pitch and roll seem to have a max of 45deg) - where do I check max angles?
  3. my 75Pro won't turtle - assigned button (momentary) and Aux in BetaFlight, but drone doesn't do anything when button pressed.  How do I fix/check?

Any other suggestions for a newbie FPV flyer is appreciated.

1. The beeping is coming from the motors, unfortunately tiny motors on 1S batteries don't sound very loud at all. If you are comfortable soldering you can add a louder buzzer to the flight controller.

2. You can add the FLIGHT MODE element to your OSD to be sure you are actually changing modes, or hook up betaflight and go to the modes tab and make sure the various modes are highlighted when you flip the appropriate switches. More likely the modes are not mapped as you expect. There are some settings to limit angle or acro trainer mode, but those should not be enabled by default.

3. After you go into turtle mode, you also need to arm the quad. If your turtle mode is on a momentary switch, you would need to hold it down until after you arm, and guess you could release it after it is armed but not sure on that. The 75Pro OSD comes setup to show "CRASH FLIP SWITCH" when you are in turtle mode. You can also add the FLIP AFTER CRASH ARROW into the  OSD for a clear indication. Again you can also check your switch mappings by activating them while in the modes tab.

Turtling on a stock 75pro. I love its ability to turtle out of grass and leaves... mostly.

next to the steps named by mstc, turtle does happen if you move the pitch or roll stick. it spin up the rotors as much as you move the stick.

you can increase the loudness of your motor beeps by the esc configurator.
more loudness does give more motorheat, an extrem value can burn out motors if not used with caution.

Thx you for your replies; I didn't know you needed stick input for turtle mode. I'll check the mapping to see if I used the wrong one.

Also be really wary of turtle mode. If the grass is long and tbh if it's grass I don't generally turtle, unless I dropped the quad, some serious distance from me, in which case I might try. Same with shaggy carpets, go pick it up. If you blow the ESC's, you are looking at dropping some money on a new FC. Flat ground is fine for turtling, but the second you add in anything that can jam the motors, you run a higher risk of burning things out.
