Matek discovery buzzer 3in1
#1
Exclamation
Hello everybody, maybe this is stupid question but i can't get it to work.

I got this:

and want to configure it as a discovery buzzer. In the manual they say connect power and ground to the battery (2 wires) and connect 3 wires cable to the reciver so I did (it is F1 + F2 connection)

but I'm using iBus and ia6b reciver so my connection looks like this:

Yeas there are free pins for PWM connection and I tried this way but it isn't working.
I have switch in cleanflight for the buzzer AUX 1 configured and It did not work. Should I connect it to the FC buzzer port somehow? But there are only 2 pins for positive and negative (for simpler buzzers) I think this one needs signal to be triggered not only power but how?

For buzzers triggered by pwm usually a high signal is needed (let's say something above 1600us or so). Did you try all the way up to 2000us?
Can you verify the pwm output is working, for example by connecting a servo or something?

If you were to use the dedicated buzzer pins on the fc, you would need a simple buzzer with only 2 wires (can add link later).

PS: are you sure this beeper can be "actively activated", as i seen many so-called 'lost model-finders' that only activate when the connected channel has been dead for a minute or so.

PPS: sorry, just lazy to look it up myself Smile

You dont plug that buzzer into buzz port on your fc. It alao wont work like F2 as rx is not sending signal on other pins. What you have to do is either:
- plug it like in F3 so it will work as a lost model beeper (activates on channel inactivity)
- plug it like in F2 but not into the rx. You need to configure a pwm output in your flight controller so it will pass signal from a selected channel- aux (like you do to control an additional servo). Don't ask me how to do that, I've seen that option long time ago in open pilot days... You'll have to google that one

That seems to be logic. Connect buzzer that needs signal to the signal output in the FC if you can't connect it to the RX because you using iBUS.
What I found in google is... Great post on the sweet forum check it out guys: http://intofpv.com/t-setting-up-matek-5i...red-device

Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

but still no luck Sad I tried connecting to different esc outputs, checking different servos in CF, different switches in transmitter etc.

ok so lets go step by step... what fc, what firmware ?

Or just get a simple beeper that works using the dedicated buzzer pins on your FC.

Simple like that: http://hobbyking.com/en_us/piezo-buzzer-...s-1pc.html
Just as an example.

After few tries i gave up. Everyone on the video use pwm or ppm I'm not sure that this will work with ibus but anyway im using Betafligh 3.0 and X-Racer 3.1. Reciver is ia6b and Flysky i6 radio. Today I flashed 10 Channel firmware and seems that everything works with this but still dont know where to connect buzzer (doesn't matter what pins on ia6b?) I got all free instead of ibus ofcourse. Then how to configure it in BF?

i could recommend to connect the rx via sbus(ibus in that case, and not on the picture, on the attached picture you seeemded to have an some kind of servo/voltage monitor but i can't see the sbus/ppm connection to fc) and look for the buzzer on the fc pads not rx(hopefully you have dedicated for this purpose)

aaaaaaand there is one rule dont give up Wink there is always a way or hope to get it to work unless magic smoke came out

loook at https://www.fpvmodel.com/u/goods_attr/20...4-7033.jpg there are dedicated buzzer pins... hope this helps, if not please post picture of our fc we will figure it out

Maybe I wasn't precise enough - this buzzer probably needs PWM signal to beep. Look again on the pictures and replace 'receiver' with 'flight controller'. You have to hook it up to the FC and configure one of motor connections to output PWM on signal pin. How egzactly it is done, I don't know as I never had to do it. You can try fiddling with BF servo tab or look trough some youtube videos.

@Grisha - that won't work as it still needs PWM to function on a switch

Or just hook it up between fc -> plug C (with 5v wire) -> buzzer -> plug B (without 5v wire) -> ESC signal
