Martian II 5" - Need some help
#1
Hello Guys!
I'm new in the miniquads world, i never had before a miniquad, but i would like to build one. I feel i need some help about the parts list. I read several forums, Oscar's page and reviews and also some thread in this forum, but i'm still not confident enough.

This would be my setup:
Frame: Martian Ⅱ 220 4mm
FC:
F3 EVO (http://www.banggood.com/F3-EVO-Cleanflig...64058.html)
or
Naze32 F3 (http://www.banggood.com/Upgrade-NAZE32-F...10232.html)

Motors: Racerstar Racing Edition 2205 BR2205 2300KV
ESC: Racerstar RS20A V2
Props: Kingkong 5040 5x4x3
Cam: RunCam PZ0420M-L28

My plan is to order all parts from BangGood. I have some FPV stuff, but i consider to buy a Quanum Cyclops or DIY V2 Pro. Is it a good setup for a first quad, that is a little bit "future proof"? Thank you in advance for your advices!
(Sorry for my bad english)

Between the 2 FC, i would probably go for the EVO.. because i hate those plastic connectors LOL
Camera: maybe get the Runcam swift it's newer, smaller and better.
the rest looks good to me

Looks good to me! I love the Martian II frame, just make sure to buy some spare arms. I snapped one of mine and now I have to wait for a replacement to come in before I can fly again.

Thank you guys for look over my part list. You helped me a lot! Then i go with the Runcam Swift camera and order those spare arms Smile. And after some research i found out, that i have to go with the Naze32 F3 board because my FS-iA6 receiver supports only PWM but the EVO FC doesnt. Thousand thanks!

I would get a FS-IA6B receiver, so you can use ibus instead. It is much easier with cables, since you only need signal, ground and 5V and you also get the benefit of less latency.

I got a runcam swift and a foxeer HS1177 and I must say the Foxeer has a tiny bit sharper image than the Runcam. I also read somewhere that you cant use whatever lens you want on the runcam, as you will not get it to focus. I need to check this once I get back home from work to check this.

If you buy an ir sensitive camera, you can buy an additional lens with ir filter, so you get the best of both worlds. Here is a link to both:

Keep in mind that the lens I linked to is a 2.5mm lens. Personally, I like the 2.5mm a bit better than the 2.8mm as you can see more of your surroundings, but the edges will be more curved than a 2.8mm obviously.

2.5mm vs 2.8mm comparison I found on youtube:

I wonder if the Banggood version of the Martian II has the upgraded power distro board in it to not fry midflight. Any thoughts?

I just replaced the stock PDB with a Realacc HUB OSD Eco, it solved my voltage regulation problem also.

Thank you guys for your help, my first build is ready. I upgraded the IA6B reciever also. The copter is hovering well, I could manage some LOS flights. I still can't decide which monitor goggles should I buy.

And one more question guys: Is this setup is enough for 4S batteries? I mean the 20A ESCs. I have only some 3S 2200mah batteries, but these are too heavy, so I will buy some smaller (1300? or 1500?). But I don't know, if my copter can handle 4S or not.
