I made this guide a while ago, but some of you might like it, so ill post it here on the new forum! Thanks oscar Smile

Making an Quad Case in 10 Steps!

After i made my protection and travel case yesterday, and posted it here on the from i got a lot of positive reactions and likes.
Always nice when people like it, so i thought ill make a little tutorial and share it with you guys.

After researching a bit, asking some questions here and advice i started to make the case. In my opinion its not hard after all and most of goes without saying anything, and wont be a hard for any of you!
Its just to show it a bit more step by step instead of the end result, and therefore i will note every stap taken  Tongue

Step 1:
1. Orientate what case you need, and what you want to do with the case.
I watched a lot on the internet, checked google, asked you guys for advice and visited serveral local stores. Till I found just the right one.

My particular case is Lengt 45cm, Width 35cm, depth 16 cm.
I think 16 euros for just the case is not that expensive, but it could have been that i was lucky. Atleast i took my Quad and the transmitter with me to these stores, and checked out if it would fit in there with a little bit of a puzzle.

Step 2:
Once you got the Case, you want your quad, or whatever your traveling in it to fit and not moving arround while wearing it to your flying spot.
The solution for this is foam, i used Pick and Pluck Foam for this, but maybe your more creative then i am and fix the gear on another way into the case.

Thanks to reactions on the form here i knew the name of this type of foam, i never heard of it so far.
I ordered the foam at www.zelfbouwcase.nl (Maybe interesting for the Dutchies arround here) But just google it and you find it somewere smile emoticon

Step 3: Wait and be patient till your stuff get delivered... yeah i know this part of the guide sucks but its the reality everyone has to deal with, unless you can find it at a local store near your house Smile

Step 4: Measure the foam, think of it how you want to place it in the case.
What parts to use? Whats the depth of it again, just take your time and dont make any decision to fast.

Once your out of it start cutting it slowly with a utility knife or anything sharp, so the block fits perfectly in your case!

Step 5: Once its in the case take your equipment, and submit a little pressure on the foam with it so you know where the items will take place in the foam. Then you start to Remove blocks out of the foam and make the gear fit!

When removing blocks out of the foam, be aware the foam might fall appart since the most of the body is removed from it. To fit my gear in it well, i might have used about 15%? From the total foam i received.

Step 6: GLUE! Fix the foam within the case! Take it to the right position and fixate it with some good glue. I used a combination of Bisonkit and some Hotglue, which worked out prety well.

Step 7:
Take your gear into the case, which should fit perfectly right now, measure a bit and make a good top layer so when when wearing the case your gear cant fall out of it. You dont want to break your Taranis sticks or Gemfan/HQ carbon props! smile emoticon

Step 8
Make some holes in the top foam layer for the sticks of your taranis, so the cant get damaged when closing the case! smile emoticon thanks Shay Avital

Step 9:
You might want to use some Liquid tape to get the foam a little bit stronger! thanks Moe Muggy!. Havent tried this yet, but its just an idea smile emoticon

Step 10:
Use the case, Take it with you when flying and enjoy.

Hope you guys can do something with itIf not, thanks for reading! Smile
