I thought I'd do a quick build log of the stretch 220-X by Lumenier I'm working on. I won't go into detail on this awesome frame, as JimmyLe813 has already done an in-depth review here. http://intofpv.com/t-qav-xs-build-log-an...menier+QAV
Thought I'd just post a few pics to show those who are thinking of their first build that it's not near as intimidating as it might seem.
The only small fault I can find with this frame is that the camera angle is at 30 degrees which may be pretty drastic when just learning to fly (like me!) but I think if you got a camera with pin-outs on the top instead of bottom, you could get it to 20 degrees. Other than that, it's a very sleek aerodynamic design that looks fast just sitting on the workbench. Here's the first pic with just the 4Power board installed.
Haha I knew someone would ask. I'm always fiddling with things and found that due to the fact that the RE1 is soldered onto the mPB, once it's on, there's no turning back. Plus the fact that it's got that high regulator making for a pretty tall stack. As the Lumenier frame only has 28 mm standoffs, I was worried about clearance issues. I did just notice last night though that they've released a mPB V2 which has gotten rid of that massive regulator so it's a much lower profile.

Yeah, I just saw that the mPB V2 is out which reduces the gap between the two to just 5mm instead of 8mm.
It's a capacitor that makes it so tall and I see that they've replaced the single capacitor with two smaller ones and moved the shunt resistor for current measurement to the other side of the PCB. Still, 28mm is a huge amount of room! The RE1 and mPB V1 fitted just fine into the 20mm space on my Chameleon.
I really like what they've done with the new mPB - having a regulated output that can either give you 10V or 5V is an excellent idea. Perfect for a 3S quad and stuff that wants more than 5V. Or, you can have two 5V outputs at 1A each and dedicate one to running a TBS Unify Pro VTX.
I don't know why you say there's no turning back with the mPB - mine came with pins and matching sockets so I can easily separate the two boards.
The other factors were that as this is a bottom-mounted battery, the hard-mounted XT60 on the 4Power board works quite well. Biggest thing was that I originally planned on using the RF Revolt, but I didn't like the layout so I switched to the RE1. But yes, I'll probably order the new mPB soon.
Here's the first version with the Raceflight Revolt FC. I removed the cover and header pins from the R6D-S receiver and it easily fits underneath the PDB with room to spare. Motors & FC are soft mounted and just mounted the ESCs with 2-sided 3M tape, wrapped with blue electrical tape (no zipties!!)
Here's the latest version. Revolt is switched out for the BrainFPV RE1 FC and ESC ground wire added, with both signal and ground going directly to the RE1 instead of through the pdb. Capacitors are added to the ESCs as 1) there's no room to install a cap at the battery and 2) IMO most noise is produced by the ESCs and caps are most efficient at reducing said noise when they're installed as close to the ESCs as possible. I'll jump ahead and say that I took it tout for a first flight last night. Just in a small field behind my house so I was only able to do a few figure eights at fairly low throttle along with a few hair-raising punch-outs. But I will say that with default Betaflight 3.1.7 settings, LP set to PT1 and filters 1 & 2 removed, it's super smooth and quiet. I guess I just got lucky on my parts selection, as it seems to be very efficient. I didn't get any LV warning at the 6 minute mark so I landed and checked everything. Battery was cool, motors were barely warm and battery was still at 15.56 volts. I think it must be because of the blue series motors, because I only got 4 1/2 minutes on a similar weight quad with the same lipo and Emax Redbottoms. Just waiting now for the new vtx and race pod which should be here in the next day or two. (Oh, and the Runcam 3 which may take a while longer.........)
I replaced the top plate with the Lumenier race pod. Well thought out design. The camera is well protected and there are slots to mount the vtx and Runcam 3 or GoPro Session. The only thing I had to do is raise it up a bit with 5mm standoffs to clear the caps

I guess they designed the pod with 2 antennae as most use FRSky receivers. I don't, so I have my antennae inside the one tube and the other one is just for show
RC3 sits on the pod at just the right angle. As a bonus, the vtx is located directly below, and the strap holds it firmly in place. Only problem is that The One Who Has All Power has informed me that the blue electrical tape on the ESCs no clashes and has to go........
