Low Voltage warnings
#1
Greetings all....

Have a quick question that I have not seen the answer to on this or any other forum (doesn't mean it's not there, I just haven't seen it)

I have a SMR 250 with a Naze32 full rev 6.  My radio is a Taranis x9D plus using the x8r receiver.  I have vbat enabled with the low voltage set to 3.4.  Here comes the weird part....IF I power up the quad first and then turn on the Taranis, all is well.  I get the same voltage reading on the Taranis as I do through the OSD (on screen).  When I get to 3.4 volts the quad starts beeping and the Taranis starts issuing warnings.  All is right with the world.  If on the other hand I turn the Taranis on first (like I'm suppose to) I still get the correct telemetry to the Taranis (except Altitude...that's NEVER right), but the  quad starts beeping immediately even though the voltage reading as seen through the OSD is correct.  It beeps through out the whole flight, but continues to report the correct voltage.  At 3.4 volts the Taranis starts issuing warnings like it's suppose to.  Cry

If anyone has any thoughts on this, I sure would appreciate hearing them.  Thanks everyone!

i think we need to figure out what it's beeping about, it might not be the voltage...
can you try disabling VBAT see if it's still beeping?
have you got any other beeper warning setup?

Can you please explain how you wired everything? I mean, telemetry, OSD, Serial ports used?
Which software are you using? Cleanflight? Betaflight?
It seems a conflict while using one or the other feature at the same time.
You should try to disconnect one item at time. First disconnect the X8R telemetry and try again...

Yeah agree, that's exactly what I thought, probably it's not the vBat alarm...

Thank you for the response gents. I will respond to your questions more thoroughly tomorrow, but briefly, the first thing I did was disable vbat and the beeping stopped. Go figure. I have found that it's not consistent either....sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't, but when it does do it, it is always under the circumstance I described in the original post. I'll get back tomorrow with more info....thanks guys!

Ok Guys....

to answer the rest of your questions.....

I am using S.Bus from the x8r to pins 5 & 6 on the Naze, have Soft Serial enabled.  From the OSD I am getting RSSI from the x8r.  Am using Vbat pins on  the Naze to hook to the battery and getting OSD info from the rx/tx pins in the center of the board......not sure which port that is.  Not sure what version of Clean Flight I'm in.  I am at work right now so this is all from memory and I am absolutely sure it might be right....maybe.  I am not sure how much an issue all this is anyway because if I unplug t he battery and then hook it back up it seems to function properly, but I WOULD like to know what's causing it..... Huh

You said you have also the telemetry on the x8r enabled, and the Taranis warning properly configured. Are you using the telemetry pins on the naze? That could be an issue. The tx/rx on the naze are shared with the telemetry pins, you can't run both. I've tried too, but the result was that the telemetry stopped once the quad was armed, but I never had the buzzer issue. Anyway write more about the wiring of the whole quad and also about the cleanflight configuration, I mean ports configuration. I think you are running too much things at the same time or probably you have messed something with the wirings.

I am using the rx/tx pins on the Naze the the RSSI feed from the x8r goes to the OSD. I don't remember exactly how I configured the ports, and I have been so busy I just haven't had time to stick it back on cleanflight and look. The only conflict that I have been able to identify that I have is that I have to unplug the rx/tx pins in order for cleanflight to work when I hook it up. I will look into it further when I have time....this damn work keeps getting in the way of my fun : (. Thank you for your help! : )
