Looking for non-slip tape
#1
I'm looking for non-slip (silicone?) tape to attach to a frame to keep the lipo from sliding.  Not the hook stuff, but the rubbery stuff with adhesive on one side.  It's like this stuff on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-3M-Self-Adh...1925412844

but I was hoping to find a roll or a larger sheet.  Anybody have any sources?
Thanks!
Scotty

I have been wondering where to get this, as it's used on the Alien frame. I normally just use Velcro but need it for both the quad and battery, becomes a pain when testing new batteries. This would be handy Smile

I'm currently experimenting to find/make something similar to protect the lipo from being damaged by frames screw heads. Today I tried sticking foamy tape to this: http://www.banggood.com/Silicone-Slim-Co...ds=myorder which was an obvious failure, but then I read that silicone sticks well to any locktite, that contains cyanoacrylate. So I just smeared super glue between foamy tape and silicone pad. Will report if that works in the morning when superglue should cure.

EDIT: I just realized that I have some fresh bathroom silicone left over after some repairs, so I also tried that. Sitting and setting Wink

Success! CA glue sticks, but makes foam tape stiff, crushes and breaks clean off the silicone pad. Silicone sealant on the other hand is elastic enough to keep it in place Smile

I think I found the stuff.  On Aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10cm-50c...59184.html

100mm X 160mm sheet for $6.44.  (The URL says 10x50cm, but the description is 10x16cm.)
It'll take two-three weeks to get here, but I'll let you know if it's the right stuff when it gets here.

I also got what I think is the same stuff in a roll (30mm X 500mm) for $4.74, but it may take longer to get here.

This stuff is indeed the correct stuff.  It's 2mm thick and very anti-slippery.  Both are the same material, just different form factor.  (The roll is a bit cheaper by area - but may have more waste for narrower use.)

If you have a home depot or something similar near you go to the electrical tape section and look for the 3M waterproof electrical tape. I used it on all of my race bike frames for grip and frame protection and on my quads to stop the batteries from sliding/protection. Its something 8 dollars for a roll and its really sticky and the non-adhesive side is really giving so things sink in to rather then slipping. For instance some of my Tatu packs have a really short balance clean so rather then trying to stick them under the battery strap i just tuck them under the battery into the tape, its thick enough that it wont dig into the frame and it wont move at all.

Hope this helps everyone as it has me.  Big Grin
I happened to come across this sticky/leathery madical tape a couple months ago and have been using it for cushioning and grip for lipos and even a FC. NexCare Absolute Waterproof First Aid Tape. I found it at our local grocery/superstore for about $4 usd!  Thumbs Up

Notice there is no tape applied to smaller lipo

Very very grippy (very sticky)(idk how grippy will translate Tongue )

Note: color in photos is not accurate (very late, poor lighting sry) Tape is tan in color
