Looking for FPV introductory material

Question
I been reading a lot of information and reviews but none of the beginner guides explain things like S3, S4, S5, S6 type acronyms I been seeing. Does anyone know a tutorial or guide that will explain these common terms and what they mean so I can understand some of the information I been studying.

Thanks

Heres a link to r/multicopters list of abbreviations that should answer most acronyms/abbreviations:

https://www.reddit.com/r/multicopter/wiki/terminology

But generally when they refer to the (S) on a battery its refering to how many cells the battery has, so a 3s has 3 cells, 4s has 4 cells, etc...

I would really recommend looking up the UAV Futures channel on youtube, Stu does a pretty good job of explaining things. Or course there is also a ton of great information on this site as well. As someone knew to this whole thing as well I certainly understand the sheer amount of information can be a little bit overwhelming.

Yep, you should read every single tutorial article on Oscar's blog. You don't have to read the reviews, but definitely read the others. You will have a much better understanding of the whole hobby

I don't mean to correct you, but as this is the 'beginner questions' section I just thought I'd clarify...

The S does refer to the amount of cells in the battery, but more specifically the number of cells wired in Series, therefore the higher the S number the more volts (increments of 3.7v for LiPo.) You also find batteries with a (P) prefix too which stands for the number of cells wired in Parallel.

So for example - a '3S2P 3000mAh battery' would be a 6 cell battery made up of 2 sets of 3x '3.7v 1500mAh' cells wired in Series calculating 11.1v, (3S 1500mAh) those 2 sets of 11.1v 1500mAh wired in Parallel gives you 11.1v 3000mAh.

I agree you should read the tutorial articles on Oscar's blog, but I take issue with this!
You should read the reviews too, especially the Eachine E010 vs Eachine H8 comparison review, cos I wrote it, Tongue my 1st review!
