Looking for advice on first drone. Thanks
#1
Question
I am looking for a small toy drone with fpv that I can just zip around the house that is inexpensive. I want to start learning to fly the proper way and not with these ones designed for video that always auto level and such.   (Bring on them crashes!)

The second type of drone I am looking for is more along the lines of a beginner to expert level fpv drone that I can start off with some stability control but later switch that off and learn to control in an acrobatic mode aka Horizon and Angle mode I guess it's called..

I prefer price to be around $150 it's not like I am going to be racing but I would like to start off with more of a beginner and grow into it where I can do simple tricks like funnels and rolls in the future as I get more experienced. I prefer brushless/coreless or one that I can easily upgrade to brushless as I hear that brushed motors seem to go out pretty quickly.

When I first started to look into drones I almost considered a H502S but than the more I thought about it I really am not into just taking videos and photos and rather have something more fun that I can grow into.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hello Molitar,

maybe for your first drone you like the Cheerson CX-10WD, it's a very crash resistant mini drone for in home flying.
It's for $36

Link to the product: Cheerson CX-10WD

Not bad but is there something with batteries so I can get more time out of a session. I would like to pick up about 3 or 4 batteries.. that way i can zip back.. swap batteries and back to zipping around some more Smile  Other than that looks like a great little machine.

If you already had a radio, you would have more choices in your price range for the acrobatic type micro quad that you want.

It would be hard to beat the Eachine QX90 from Banggood paired up with the Flysky transmitter from Banggood.

QX90: http://www.banggood.com/Tiny-QX90-90mm-M...69614.html
Choose US Warehouse (or CN Warehouse), BNF, Flysky Receiver (NOT Frsky - you can't afford a Taranis on your budget)
(Oh, and get extra props while you are there - a dozen or so)

Flysky Transmitter: http://www.banggood.com/Flysky-FS-i6X-2_...90406.html (I suggest Mode 2)
You have several choices here (search flysky transmitter for other choices) - go for 10 channel if you can afford it. Unfortunately, none of them are available in the US warehouse, so if you get the QX90, you might as well get it at the CN warehouse (save a couple of bucks).

That still puts you well under $150.
Just be aware that if you later decide to get a Taranis or Spektrum transmitter, you'll need to keep the Flysky around to fly your QX90 - none of the protocols are compatible.
Good luck!

For the QX90 or QX95 (also a great small quadcopter) you still need a FPV receiver and a screen or goggles for the FPV usage.
But Pimousse posted a relative cheap solution for that, it only have a little bit more latency but i think it's acceptable for beginning FPV, here a link to the post from Pimousse: http://intofpv.com/t-usv-5-8-otg-receiver-rx-usb-otg

I got the EX 100 and I can recommend that as a real cheap solution. QX90 and QX95 are quite similar so Ikkuh's suggestion is pretty good too.
