Littlebee 20A burnt?
#1
This was what one of my littlebee 20A ESCs looked like when I changed motors today due to a lot of vibrations. Can anyone tell me what those burnt parts are, and could they be the reason why I got so bad vibrations?

The burnt parts look like MOSFETS. and is a very high chance you got bad vibrations coming from the motor that esc was attached to.

Can you fix it ? Possibly, but given the price of a new ESC I would bite the bullet and get a new one.

Here is a generic picture of an ESC and it's parts.  for future reference for you. Smile

Thanks, I just tried my quad with a new esc and new motors, but unfortunately the vibrations are still there.

I did some more investigations and it looks like the two fried components are capacitors connected in parallel with the power input, so I would guess that they are for filtering. I normally put a 470uf cap on each ESC anyway so I think the ESC is still usable. I will give it a try

did that happen while you were flying? or when you plugged your battery in?

I don't know. It was like that when I disassembled the quad to see if I could find the reason for why my quad was oscillating at mid-throttle. It turned out it was my camera mount... I used the camera mount that came with the Runcam HS1177

ahh shakey camera will get you every time, lol. the reason why I asked about the esc is because I've had xm20's and little bees do the same thing. blown caps. so I went back and thought ok what's the common dinominator, and I remembered changing a setting in BLHeli. "Start Up Power" I was led to believe that this was used to start up your motors, so I set it from the default of .75 to 1.00. but after blowing the esc's I'm starting to think that maybe it's the power used to start up the esc's and not the motors, and might be the reason why I've blown 3 esc's. Maybe?

I'm not sure. I haven't messed so much with blheli, except flashing and reversing direction. I have kept everything else at stock. Maybe this guide from Joshua Bardwell can help you out with blheli settings:

lol that's the video I watched that led me to believe that the setting was for power to my motors.

Its almost as if the ESCs arent keeping the calibration when trying to fly. I'm trying to narrow down the issues from a flight controller standpoint, Naze32 Rev6, or an ESC standpoint.

I was just curious to see if there was a way to find any issues with ESCs. they seem to work though, which is strange.

so are you having desync issues? have you checked them in BLHeli? and can you post your CLI dump? let's start with that.
