LittleBee 20a BLHeli vs DYS BL20a mini
#1
Information
I have seen a lot of ppl talking about both of these ESCs, but couldn't find any comparison between them.

The thing is, I recently got an Eachine 250 racer aaaand MIGHT have burned one or two ESCs with a bad motor provided by Banggood Sad  (still gonna try to get new ones, this quad definetly isn't a 4s setup)

(BTW motors jamming, rarely spinning and ESC burning hot is a motor issue, right?)

Anyways, even though I must change motors I feel like those ESCs are not realiable and want to upgrade asap.

Which one of these two would you advise? (or another one)

-LittleBee 20A ESC BLHeli OPTO 2-4s Oneshot125 support
-DYS BL20A mini ESC OPTO 2-4s (not sure if it supports oneshot125 but I guess so)

*I've read that these DYS mini usually get on fire (or it was just a huge batch of bad ones)

It also seems to me that both of them already come with the BLHeli firmware, no need for flashing (unless I want the newest firm - which is not really necessary for now I guess).

thanks in advance!

Edit: video showing the issue going on -

Fail attempt after motor worked for 2min. after that never more:

The 2 esc's you listed are still good, but getting old now.

The LB 20amp Pro is a better choice than the original LB 20
A batch of the DYS 20 did have a problem yes, not so much as catching fire but just burning a chip, 18 Amp KISS esc's are still the best firestarters on the market.

DYS XS20A Blheli_S ESC are also a great little esc
The Aikon SEFM 30A ESC with BLHeli_S are also good.

I agree with what Biggles said. BLHeli_S ESC's are a very good yet affordable choice
by the way your video isn't working

Thanks Biggles and Oscar!

I'm gonna look for those BLHeli_S ESCs then, in the meantime I have to look for some good-not-expensive new motors down here in sao paulo (and hope the ESCs are ok) cuz i cant wait another 2-3 week for an international shipping Cry

*just corrected the video link, thanks again

Racerstar blheliS escs from Banggood are quite good. They are rebranded cicada sunrise which is a known esc brand. The red 2205 racerstar motors are also a good motor imo. I use that setup on one of my quads, and I really like it! It is fast and the smoothness of blheliS is quite something. It feels like I got better throttle control with those escs.

The only thing that was better with the littlebees, was that when I disarmed, the propellers went to a complete stop instantly, but with the racerstar, it freewheels from idle. It could be a setting in blheli suite, but I haven't looked much into it. The only time this is a bit annoying is when landing in your hand and you are not aware that the props will freewheel to stop. That was a bit scary at first, but now I'm used to it Tongue

LB 20A is a solid ESC but like everyone said, a bit aged. It would be worth it if you can get a great deal on them - say less than $9 a piece, which does come up from time to time. I've flashed Multishot on them on 2 quads and they perform fantastically.

BLHeli_S has penetrated the market well enough by now. The DYS XS 20A can be found around $13 which is probably the best balance of cost vs performance. http://www.banggood.com/DYS-XS-20A-3-4s-...60354.html

FVT also released an upgrade to the LittleBees 20A with BLHeli_S support (http://www.banggood.com/Favourite-FVT-Li...60963.html) They are a few bucks more than the DYS, probably because of the reputation of their last version. I have them on a micro 140 quad and they are very smooth.

I was wondering what (re-brand) the Racestars were, I've got a set ready to go on a build..  my first BlHeli_s build! Thanks for the info.
