Lipo placement
#1
Hello Guys,

Do someone have some good tips and tricks to place the lipo every time on the same place on a brushed quad.
I have a QX95 but it's hard to place the lipo on the same place so the COG is not changing to much.
After i have changed the lipo i need to trim the quad so it stays on the same spot and that cost some flight time.

You could use this kind of velcro: https://www.amazon.com/Reclosable-Fasten...+dual+lock

It's super strong - and when it's connects, it clicks vs. just mashing normal velcro together.

With this - you could probably use a smaller piece and hit the center more easily? Or... honestly - just ditch the velcro and use a rubber band so you shift it around easily until you find the right spot. That's what I do with my brushed quads. Just put the battery through the rubber band - pinch the quad between my fingers where I think the CG is and see how it feels.

The other thing that I've found is that some receivers can drift a bit (especially the micro ones) ... seemingly randomly (weather, temp, voltage, who knows ...) and this is inevitable. So the trimming may be related to that drift.

Lastly, hitting the CG is important, but if you switch over to rate/acro mode (which is a big jump, I know) you don't have to deal with trimming nearly as much.

Maybe these would work.

Mark the outline, or end of the optimal lipo position somehow on the frame?

That is, if all your lipos are about same weight and size.

Yes velcro does the trick for me. I dont even need rubber bands for it

Thanks for the tips guys, i already placed 3 stand off's to place the lipo everytime the same time as possible.

I also fly LOS i'm not yet in the FPV, i need first a screen for that. And i fly in acro mode.

And i like it when i give some throttle only that the quad moves up, and yes i know that the possibillity for some drift will be always there, but i'm also a perfectionist.
