LED Naze32 Spektrum Satellite Rx
#1
I am using Spektrum satellite and NAZE32 but could not get the LED working on Ch5.
I can get it to work in PPM only.

Any Ideas?

According to Cleanflight docs, only "ws2811/ws2812 LEDs are supported currently".  These have a programmable chip on-board.  AdaFruit (among others) sells these.  If you have some other LED strip (maybe an always-on type), they may not work on PWM 5.  If they are not programmable, you might just connect them to a 5V source to make them work (always on of course).

What LEDs do you have?  What FC software are you using?  More info please.

My Flight controller is Naze32 on Betaflight 3.0 firmware.  The LED  is fully programmable and could be seen here

I spent 4 hours yesterday evening looking for my lost quad.  I could have found it faster if I had my led and beeper combo board functional.
Although the beeper is functional but because of the led issue I had the whole thing removed.

Any help in resolving my led issue would be highly appreciated.

what Receiver are you using? The ch5 LED pin only works if you are using PPM, SBUS or other serial RX. It won't work in PWM mode.

Did you set the "led strip" feature in betaflight?  You can do it in the setup tab of the gui, or from the command line (feature led_strip). Then you need to set up some indicators or something in the LED tab (or the cli).  See: https://github.com/cleanflight/cleanflig...edStrip.md

I am using Spektrum satellite receiver.

Yes, I have led_strip enabled and indicators setup. It only works when I use PPM receiver but would not function with satellite receiver which is what I use for flying my quad.

Do you have soft serial enabled? I read somewhere that you can't use LEDs if you have soft serial enabled. (You also might check where AUX1 is mapped - although I'm not sure why it would be mapped differently with PPM as opposed to RX_Serial. I've never used a PPM receiver.) I should also mention that my experience is with Flip32 (Naze clone) not a true Naze32.

Here is where I got some of these ideas from: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthrea...97&page=33

I have Rx_Serial selected to be able to use Satellite Rx but I don't have any Soft Serial enabled.

Thanks very much for your help.

I replaced my Naze32 FC with OMNIBUS AIO F3 FC with dedicated led strip port and everything is now working.
