LBT or FCC
#1
Hi All,

I am in Germany and wishing to buy this radio.

https://www.radiomasterrc.com/products/b...troller-m2

I would like to know if I need to select the FCC version or LBT.

A bit confusing hence thought of posting in the forum before I place the order.

From a "legal" persepective you should buy the LBT (Listen-Before-Talk) version, but in doing so you will limit yourself to (low) RF power levels imposed by EU legislation.

Just keep in mind that 95% or FPV pilots are flying illegally in one respect or another whether that be using an illegal RF power level, flying without a spotter, or flying beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS).

I obviously can't publicly condone doing anything illegal so it will really be up to you which version you decide to buy Big Grin

as snow told, from legal position lbt - from technical you get better link quality and range by fcc.
what is more save to you? better link or staying legal?
you might know my desicion :-)

its just the firmare, you can switch from lbt to fcc or opposide. just huge woek as all receivers need to be flashed either.
you can buy an lbt radio with the lbt sticker on it and flash fcc as example

As well as power output levels, radio transmission devices (not just RC model transmitters) sold new in the EU zone for several years now should not be capable of outputting non-LBT formats, so not a user choice to comply or not.

For example in basic principle, FrSky D8 is not LBT, D16 is. Also Spektrum DSM2 is not LBT, while DSMX is.

Legacy eqiupment sold new before that date are unaffected.  This was a second stage of legislation over a year after LBT initiation across the EU.

Most multi protocol modules or transmitters with one contained have a plethora of non-LBT formats available on them.

Its actually in the international world of Model RC  trading very difficult TO stay 100% squeaky clean!

Hi Nadim,

I bought it directly from bangood.

Here were the advantages.

1. Payment was done via PayPal - You can directly use your credit card no risk at all. Ive used it a 100 times
2. Shipping was fast and I received the radio in mint condition
3. I ordered the battery separately from Ebay.de as I didn't want any issues due to the battery

The best part is I didn't have to pay any customs. this saved me alot of money.

if you want to buy via bangood then please use my referral link.
