0 Hey guys,
Out racing today, went to power up for my next heat and no power to the Kombini at all. Have done a little poking around on the board with a multimeter - as much as I can without removing it. Looks like no power across the 12V regulator so something between that and +ve battery has gone.
The marketing bumph mentions 150A Current Protection on the PDB. Is there a fuse or other sacrificial component that might have blow - which I can replace?
Board powers up fine via USB.
Ocar's blog mentions one board he received had the 5v Reg blown but given no voltage across the 12v reg (no VBAT on any leg) that seems unlikely.

139 yup sounds like the reverse polarity protection diode is gone...
I didn't have any luck with 2 Kombini's, both have trouble even powering on LOL gave up on it after that.

0 12-Jun-2017, 10:23 AM (This post was last modified: 12-Jun-2017, 11:34 AM by JBFUK.) I take it that's the Schottky diode? I was thinking that could be the failure point but shouldn't I still expect to get VBAT voltage on one side of it when compared to ground? Not sure how to test that diode correctly.
Definitely something between VBAT and the input to the 12V reg that's failed as no input voltage on that at all. Current sensing resistor and inductor have VBAT across them so they appear to be ok.
FFPV support look like they are going to replace it but I don't like not knowing what's broken, or binning what is a perfectly good board bar probably one failed component which could probably be replaced.
Any advice on a better AIO board? I have a Betaflight F3 board but that's reserved for a new build that I'm still waiting on parts for.
[EDIT]
Bit of further investigation. Compared to the similar component on my new unused BF-F3 board I don't think that diode is gone, similar results with the continuity check and resistance check. Doesn't seem like power is getting that far.

139 At the moment the only AIO board that feel confident is the Betaflight F3... I also use Radiance and XRacer on 2 other builds.
Ominbus is another good board to try for Betafligiht.
In that case I am not sure! they might have added some sort of protection components in the raw voltage input afterwards.
