Oscar, I need your help(knowledge). I want to rebuild a KingKong 210GT into another X frame. Can you suggest one? I see Diatone Crusader 225(expensive), GE-X240, GE220, GEPRC GEP-ZX5, Realacc X210. Or can you suggest best-buy? Thank you!

14-Aug-2016, 08:15 PM sorry I don't know how much i can help, i don't have experience with any of these frames.. CRUSADER 225 looks like a kit? I would probably avoid kits as most of the times the parts are already out of date (by that i mean there are newer, better parts out there already) I think I prefer GE220's frame design over GEP-ZX5's. The latter has the top cage held by 2 bolts and that just looks a bit uncertain to me 14-Aug-2016, 08:40 PM Yes, it's a kit. But there isn't any info for example from weight. So you prefer GE220? That is 142g. GE-X240 3mm 108g GE220 5mm 142g GEPRC GEP-QX5 4mm 65g QAV-X 4mm 93g Realacc X210 4mm 93g 15-Aug-2016, 01:46 AM sorry to just jump in here, but when you say "rebuild" does this mean you already have all the electronics for a quad and would like to put it on another frame? if so why would you want to buy another kit? I got the Martian 3 and it is a cheap and descent x frame quad. The top plate is a bit thin dought, but on the other hand I haven't broken it yet. If I was to buy a new one now, I would probably go for the realacc x210 or a GEP QX5. I prefer the unibody design as you normally get a little bit more space to build and less weight. The gep x5 is also a great looking quad and I really like the cage around the camera. It looks like they can take a bit of beating. That frame with a unibody design is probably going to be my next build. Edit: keep in mind that this is only my assumptions, and the only x frame I got experience with is the Martian 3. I actually prefer the flying characteristic of a my lisam ls210 (quite similar to the kingkong frame by looks) over the Martian 3, as we discussed in another thread about battery placement (sorry, didn't have the time to look up the thread). I feel that it is much more locked in and has a better centre of gravity. That is why I believe that a unibody x frame with a design similar to the gep would maybe be better. I assume that the COG will be closer to the propeller than the Martian. http://www.goodluckbuy.com/reptile-marti...r-fpv.html Edit2: Here is a frame I would consider. lightweight Unibody frame with protection cage for the camera http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/...47899.html Edit 3: another interesting frame http://www.aliexpress.com/item/DIY-FPV-G...2c1a8e6fe7 Edit 4: Here is the link for the battery placement discussion: http://intofpv.com/t-battery-placement-o...+placement 15-Aug-2016, 08:11 PM (15-Aug-2016, 06:48 PM)KaiotEch Wrote: Yes you're right. I like X frame better. i'm not sure if there's many options if you want a "true x" frame that's not a unibody frame. and I was looking at the kingkong210 frame that you had mentioned and it seems to me like the electronics on it looks kind of bulky and might be hard to fit into a true x frame where most of the electronics will have to be stacked on top of one another in the center of the frame. |
