Killed my first battery (mostly just complaining)
#1
[whining]

I did it... I've destroyed a battery... I went to plug my fatsharks into the computer this morning for some stick time and noticed no lights on the fatshark battery... upon further investigation... still plugged in... oh crap...

Checked on charger... 0v  Cry

fairwell, fair battery, you.... you with the balance lead that isn't really a balance lead  Angry you, who caused me a lot of trouble early on and were really confusing to charge because of that balance/non-balance lead when I had no idea how to use the imax yet and I've lost your charging lead and had to replace it...  ...and now that I think about it this battery has been flipping bad luck since the beginning!

I wish these were out already: http://intofpv.com/t-furious-fpv-goggles...-remaining

oh well... I think I am just going to get a new one from fatshark and maybe start plugging in rather than using my battery at home... sure that's what I need... one more wire hanging off of me while I sit at my computer!   ROFL

Yeah Id like one of those battery holders too. I use 18650s In my vapes and flashlights. Sony VTC4s are my 18650 of choice (2200mAh, 30A continuous discharge) for vapes and I think they would do nicely in a box similar to that.

There are better choices of 18650 for this application. It's not as if the goggles need to pull 20+ amps from the battery and you'll be trading capacity for a discharge rating you'll never use.

I'd be looking more at the 3400mA/h Panasonic NCR18650B batteries to power the Fatsharks. They are protected, so it's not possible to discharge them down to 0V. The only thing that might be a problem is that they're actually 70.3mm long, which might be too long for the battery holder.

Oh I agree, I just have several Sonys I could easily throw in and not spend the extra money Wink  The battery for my Eachine G2s is only 2200mAh now as it is.
Now I wonder if I could DIY my own with an old mechanical vape mod and some electronics from BGTongue   Thinking

Any thoughts?

If you make it a single battery mod instead of a dual battery like it's made for, there would be loads of room for a YiHi SX350 or DNA 40 board in the space for the second battery.

Nice mod by the way!

I don't remember seeing BG sell e-cig stuff though, but it's been a while since I looked at any of that kind of thing. I've got a large collection of rare high-end vaping kit and I've not seen anything come out over the last few years that will even come close.

What I'm vaping at the moment is made from pure unobtanium. Smile

true... plus... I do have the components in case I want to Frankenstein something else.
  • Fatshark power Lead (Type M Connector)
  • A balance lead like thing, but with 2 wires... could add a 3rd... likely wont use this component for anything else
  • If I break it apart I have a battery meter that I could use to make a new DIY fatshark battery if I want.

All of that will depend on how much I want to play evil battery scientist though of course...  Whistling
