kakute f4 v2.4

Can the Kakute f4 v2.4 (mpu6000 gyro) handle gps rescue in BF 4.5 since it has become very CPU intensive as the DEV's say in the Release Notes of 4.5. Since I explore UNKNOWN places as well as over water/ deep jungle I depend on GPS RESCUE to fly not only LR(7 ") but pretty close too, like within 700 meters. It has saved my 5 inch quads( all F7 processors) since gps rescue  was first  introduced some 4 years ago. It has never failed me from the very beginning. Obviously, I do not fly Bandos. The F4's are cheaper hence the question.

Did it work for you on 4.4? If it did, use what works. You don't have to remain at the cutting edge of software development. Stick with stable and enjoy flying. Upgrade only if you have need of specific functionality not provided by the current version.

Yes, it did. But I am a weirdo. Maybe a tinkerer. I am guilty of always flashing a Development Build and a RC Build as soon as they are in play, in two of my quads. The rest of my quads are always in conservative BF firmware i.e. the firmware that is working very well indeed, since 3.5.7. and later. The latest firmware are Improvements and the Hard Work of our DEVs after all with all the bugs and shit. I love to fly them. Please don't take it otherwise. Take Care. Cheerio.

No I don't, it's a free world for the most part. My point was more along the line of whether it's worth burning up hours of your life fixing a problem that doesn't exist on an earlier or different version. Me personally, I'd rather be out flying than trying to fix broken software issues. Using latest things is not always good. The other year BF Devs released several Release Candidates for 4.3.0 that permanently bricked the gyros on probably quite a large number of FC's. I am really careful after that.

But it is up to the individual to make their own choices. Smile
