I never saw you check the drop-downs by the "Connect" button. That's where you'd see SiLabs and different com ports. Check the drop-downs - see what's there.

One more suggestion: Unplug all USB devices EXCEPT the quad. See what shows up in the drop-down (don't focus so much on the device manager ports).

Smile Hello Ikkuh!! And everyone else! Well I did better than a screen shot! I did a screen record!! I expand some of the items in my device mgr so you can see what's there. I do not see anything that says sili lab UART USB on it there is one Bootloader and receiver on one of them and I think they are for Libre Pilot and I do NOT want to disturb it it seems to be working correctly I just need to repair the copter that goes with it! See you don't get it ALL of my racers are down!!! I HAVE NOTHING to fly right now a couple of toy ones but now they seem senseless hahaha I want the real deal now!! But anyway anyone who wants to take a look at this and see if they see something I'm forgetting or not doing or doing wrong please let me know and tell me EXACTLY what to do to correct the problem, I have no problem taking orders from someone who knows more than I about this or anything else for that matter hahaha! So fire away if you see something that is not right or I'm not doing or anything that doesn't seem right and you know how to fix or correct please do not hesitate to tell me I NEED TO KNOW lol!!! Thanks! Hope someone sees something, oh and I'd like to take a second to tell EVERYONE that has posted to my thread or post THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!! It means a great deal, for I have had not much luck in ANY responses anywhere else or any other forums you guys are great THE BEST!! And thank you it means a lot. Well take a gander if you will and see what is wrong with this thing please lol!!! Thanks-Turbo.

Blush Ah ok lol but a lot of my stuff are on usb's!!! my mouse my sound system my docking station things charging an external hard drive my iPad and iPhone lol I really do not want to unhook all of that stuff and have to worry about getting it all to work again lol for I had to do a log me in with microsoft after windows 10 install almost ALL my USB stuff quit and my sound system but they got it fixed so if it means getting this little quad up in the air I'll go ahead and unhook everything then I just wish there was another way? lol Dang it!! Dodgy HAHAHAAHA Oh well it's not that big of deal I spose lol. And like I said if it will get this thing going and programmed and transmitter set up then it'll be worth it even if I do have to do a log me in with microsoft to get my stuff all working again!!! For I WANT TO FLY THIS THING!!! I just hope now after ALL of this I am not very disapointed!!!!! Oh I'll be mad as hell! lol THX-Turbo. Big Grin

Oh okay I thought that may be what you were referring to lol but wasn't sure yeah I'll take a screen shot of the device mgr and see if anyone can see anything! Hold on and I'll do it in just a second I've really not done it much so I'll have to kind of figure the program out again on how to do it but I think I remember. And yes I can tell your ALL trying to help me and you don't even know how much that means to me!! I've posted my problem on several forums and places and asked everyone I could and have got nothing from most of the forums except "you have to use a data cable not just a charge cable" Lord have mercy I DO at least know that damn much lol and I've got about twenty of them and I KNOW one of them if not all are data sync cables, but anyway I went to Radioi Shack anyway and purchased a $20 one a freakin twenty dollar USB cable and it says right on the box DATA SYNC and charging cable. So I'm PRETTY positive I have that much correct hahahahaha MAN!!! And I've gotten that A LOT!!!!! TRY A DATA CABLE!! Well I AM dang it!!! lol So give me a minute or two and I'll try t get a screen shot of my device MGR. Thanks again! And everyone is so cool on this forum it's AWESOME! I've gotten more help and attention to my problem here than anywhere!! You guys are great! And if one of you helps me out I will be in total debt to that person until I've repaid the favor!!!! It will be GREATLY appreciated and I WILL pay someone back somehow some way. OK let me get to that screen print!! Oh and I also posted another video of what I'm doing with the driver and copter if you would like to watch it it's about 8 minutes long. THX-Turbo [Image: sad.png]

Also lol I have clicked the connect button and EVERY other box on the screen to see if anything shows up...NOTHING!! I'm not a total dumbass lol I do know a tad about what I'm doing I am a beginner but I can understand basic PC lingo until you start talking code and developer stuff and technical stuff about the PC I know some but I'm no pro programmer by any means lol Thanks for the suggestion! Turbo. Wink

Dang it this has went to 2 pages now I was hoping it wouldn't go that far and someone would tell me the solution lol!! Lord! There must be something wrong?? WOW!! Thanks everyone for the posts and help I'm trying everything your telling me for I'm not to proud to try anything for I'm no expert and I need the help! thanks a lot everyone!-Turbo.

Turbo,

i saw something interresting, if you select the following view in your device manager:
View > device by type and
View > show hidden devices
Then you see "Other devices" expand this one and make a print screen / screen shot.

Otherwise you can try to manually add the com port, this is how you can do this:
Device manager > Action > Add old hardware (or something like that).
Then click next, choose add hardware manually > next, select ports (COM & LPT) > next, now you have to search for the Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge driver > Next, click again next and it's going to install it, after that click done or something, restart your laptop and look if you see it if you connect your quadcopter.

Exclamation Hi Ikkuh! Alright I'll give that a shot! Thanks! I hope I can do all that but I think I can manage, and I did look at the device mgr in EVERY way type and every one listed but I don't remember seeing "Other devices" I did see hidden and did click show hidden devices but like I said didn't see or know about other devices or how to manually put the driver in. I'll try my best to follow your instruction and cross your fingers! Hope like heck it works and later today I'm posting a flight with it! I can dream can't I lol!! Thanks for the reply I'll try it!-Turbo. Smile

Exclamation Hello again Ikkuh, well I didn't really quite understand the install it yourself, I'm going to go back and get the CP201x USB to UART driver again for I deleted it everywhere it was because it wasn't right anyway so I looked for it everywhere and I think I've got it deleted from everywhere, now I may go and install it again and try your instructions per install it yourself and see what happens?? I did although get a screenshot of what you said the "other devices" and did a screenshot if I can get it on here I'll show it to you and you look for whatever it is that your looking for as I try the driver download once more and connect the copter and see if it works?? I donno? Well let me see if I cam get the screenshot on here! Thanks, Turbo. Big Grin Cool

hold on let's pause for a second here before we cause Moturbo to start pulling his hair out. maybe, just maybe it could be a bunk board. I tried reading through all the post and saw that someone else had mentioned to try another computer. i couldn't find if you were able to try another computer but if you did and it still doesn't work then more than likely it could just be a bunk board.

Sidenote: Your cc3d is still working, right?

Don't wanna step on anyone's toes, but technically, the cc3d is the better board than the naze, at least when used with actual firmware (like betaflight): aside from missing the battery sensor which the naze has, cc3d features SPI bus (much much faster than i2c from naze) and onboard flash memory for internal 1:1 logging of flight data, which can be a great help for finding your perfect PIDs.

(detail explanation: what made the cc3d bad was a bug in SPI code, which remained undetected for a long time but got fixed by betaflight a while ago)

Smile Hi!! NOPE!! NATTA! I'm still at the same place I was six weeks ago with a second quad they sent me. And yes(I saw someone asked if I've tried another cable) I've tried about 20 or 30 of them and most of them if not all ARE sync and data cables, BUT, I went to radio shack and purchased a brand new on that is for sure a sync data all cable says it right on the box. And that was no help? I'm thinking something must be wrong with my laptop the ports aren't right or not assigning them correctly or something I have NO idea but I'm loosing it totally!! I just want to fly the darn thing shit!! And NOW my Eachine Racer 250 is down I thought it was the power distribution board but I just got it the other day and rebuilt the thing once more and retuned Libre Pilot said it was good to go, I took it outside and when I gave it throttle it still just flips on its back just woop flip and that's it!! So I'm guessing FC I don't know maybe ESC or motor I don't know they all turn but when it tries to lift off it just flips over and that's it?? Back to the lil Assassin's problem...I'm thinking it's my laptop maybe, I think there is something wrong with it's USB's for a couple aren't even working anymore so just great I had a brand new mother board put in this thing and now this!! So what I propose to do is try to find someone that will let me use their PC and give it a try somewhere else and see what it does for there's no way I got two bad quads is there? geeeezz!!! So that's where I'm at? Trying to find someone I can borrow a pc from and try it somewhere else on another machine. I haven't tried that yet, any suggestions?? I tell ya what, I've about had it! lol Huh Huh Dodgy Doh

Big Grin So you think I can use Betaflight or Libre Pilot with the Naze 32?? And what is SPI bus?? fill me in on this theory for I'm up for trying anything If it'll get this lil darn thing in the air!! I tried once to use Betaflight or was it cleanflight for I wasn't positive what it had been flashed with from the factory and I couldn't get it to recognize the port either??? Huh And I have a cc3d in the 250 racer but I'm thinkin it's bad now for that one won't fly now either it tunes and Libre pilot says its good I take it out it flips on it's back so I'm guessing FC? I replaced the power distribution board for there were a couple torn traces on the board so I got it the other day rebuilt the thing programed it and Libre says your good to go I take it out and it simply flips on it's back?? So I'm assuming the FC is shot? I donno! Great luck I'm having guys let me tell ya I guess I'll give up and not fly quads like I love to do hell I donno??

You told us that you also have a pc/laptop with ubuntu, did you have try it with that system?

If you are not using that pc/laptop any more you can maybe install windows 7 so you have a clean install and maybe we then get you further.

I just meant you could use the cc3d since it seems to work Smile

To get betaflight on it:
- start GCS
- go firmware -> rescue
- connect cc3d
- load the downloaded betaflight file
- click checkbox "i know what i'm doing"
- flash

Then, download betaflight configurator. Now, after flashing betaflight, to connect the cc3d, it needs to be powered before connecting to USB. Simply use a 4 cell nimh pack, or a 5V BEC.

As a heads up: quad flipping on take-off sounds like wrong motor order, motors spinning wrong side, or props mounted wrong way. Or board orientation set wrong.

TBH i'd try to fix that first, before you try anything of the above. Sounds like it's ALMOST working. Smile
