Big Grin
Hello all!! I'm Moturbo, but my name is Brad. Feel free to call me either, most people call me Turbo. I'm new to this forum and hopefully it will be helpful for me since I've been posting in many and have gotten no answers for my problem yet. I hate to start off with a problem lol haha but hey that's kind of what a forum is for right?? Okay then. Well I purchased the Eachine Assassin 180 V2 after having the Eachine Racer 250 for several months now. And well to be quite frank...It is much harder to configure than the 250 was for some reason. Here is the link to the Assassin V2 I'm referring per http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-Assassin...30018.html.  The problem is I guess it uses Cleanflight not Libre Pilot and I know how to use Libre Pilot it's very easy, but I'm not finding the cleanflght to be so as much!! For starters it will not "see" my copter?? And I am really not even sure anymore what driver I need or which one and where to put it if anywhere?????? I've gotten so confused and have read so much about but still have no clue what the deal is with this thing. This is the second Assassin V2 I've had I thought the first one must be faulty for I'm following the YouTube vids to the T and I do not get anything out of it?? I've installed ALL the drivers it lists and have unzipped them and figured they would work on their own? I do not know?? But when i try to connect to it it says failed to connect to port? And in my device MGR Ports are not even listed in it?? So by one vid said if it was done successfully it will say USB to UART and comm 3 well mine doesn't. There's nothing in mine it's just blank? And device MGR is suppose to have Ports- then Silicon Labs bla bla bla uart and there is no such thing in my device manager. And there is a bind or rather a "update" plug that goes into a plug for I guess flashing and I don't know if I am suppose to put the battery in it or use the usb for power while tuning and configuring transmitter. For one guy puts the battery in it first then the upgrade plug jumper to show GPS telemetry and the other guy does not put the battery on the copter he even says do not put battery in it use the usb. Well its been three weeks or more between working with the two more like five or six and am about to cut my wrists!! lol  Please if someone could explain or do a indepth vid on this I sure would be greatful indeed!! I really could use some assistance with this and what driver to use and how to use it if I'm doing it wrong or something??? I'm lost totally now and have no idea what to even try? Someone please help!!!!?? The last pic I inclosed is one from some info I found on it and it said that should be in my device mgr and it is not.[attachment=479][attachment=480][attachment=481][attachment=482]

welcome to the forum.
ok so let's see if I got this correct. you're simply having a problem getting your quads to connect to your computer?

you're assuming it's a driver issue? but in your pictures it's showing the driver and a com port.

Welcome to the forum MoTurbo

Your computer management shows that your quad is connectod to COM3 and with cleanflight you are trying to connect with the quad with COM13, probably if you change from COM 13 to COM3 in cleanflight than you can connect with your quad, the driver seems okay.

You can also check if COM 3 is the right one, if you connect your quad with the computer and Silicon Labs shows up then that's the right one, if you disconnected your drone then also COM 3 has to be go away.

If it's possible can you try this in a different computer. My spracer F3 board I just got wouldn't connect to my laptop (Ubuntu) I plugged it into my Mac and it worked fine. Just saying if you can't get it to work on one trying a different box may help troubleshoot the issue.

(Guys, the last photo is not Brad's computer - it's one he found to illustrate what he is supposed to have.)

Brad, you say you unzipped the driver download. You also need to double click the driver installer. It looks like (from your last photo) what you want is the scilabs driver. Assuming you have Windows 7, 8, or 10, when you unzipped it, you should see a folder called CP210x_Windows_Drivers. Double click that and inside are the actual drivers. If you have Windows 7, then you probably want the 64-bit driver. Double click the CP210xVCPInstaller_x64.exe file and that should install the driver. (If you happen to be running 32-bit windows, then you want the one with _x86 at the end - if you are not sure whether you have 64-bit or 32-bit, try the x64 first and if that doesn't work, try the x32.) If you already did all of that, try a reboot afterwards, and check again.

(In case you didn't get the correct drivers, here's the download page: https://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Page...px#windows )

Good luck, and welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum . On the very front page when you open cleanflight or betaflight there should be a few links to any of the drivers or downloads you need. After downloading the port should have a drop down window and make sure your on the correct port.
Maybe try another pc if you can as mentioned above.

Attached you see the screen from cleanflight, here you can find the driver you need, this is what PoorMan FPV means.

No that's a pic of what it IS SUPPOSE to look like the other pics are of my device mgr but the one that says "Ports"--USB to UART etc is from a site that shows what it's suppose to look like mine shows no ports at all?? I have no problem with Libre Pilot it works great and every time for the cc3d board this is the first Naze 32 I've had and know not a lot about it i have read that it is a better and more stable board than the other but I have to wonder??? lol I donno what the deal is it just keeps saying "failed to connect to serial port" and will do nothing at all?? I've been working with this thing for about four or five weeks and am getting very sick of it and may if I don't find something out in a day or two sell all my Eachine crap and buy something worthwhile that actually works and works like it's suppose to ya know? Man I'm frustrated!!! THX.

I just hope I get my answers here or somewhere in a day or two or I'm selling all the Eachine crap I have and buying a couple others I think are way better maybe the Vortex Pro by Imersion or the Alien 5" and I also am for sure getting a little RotorX Atom V122 V2 Pro with the larger motors and tri blades lol it looks like a fun lil guy!! And I think I'll invest in a tarantis transmitter what do you think about those?? And about Satalite ones I've heard they arent as fast as the tarrantis excuse my spelling I'm tired it's late and I'm typing like a secritary on meth or something and need to go to bed and give up for the night lol!! Well here at home I have only one other PC it's an old one from 2005 but has Ubuntu on it and you say it didn't work for you but I may give it a worl? Heck I donno lol my kids each have a PC but they don't live with me and my son goes to school out of state so I'd have to use my daughters laptop with windows 8.1 on it and I HATE it and I HATE windows 10 also I think I've decided to go with a macbook pro next time I just got this laptop a year ago so it's fairly new but I still may sell the sucker and get the Apple and not worry about errors and virus' and all the Gates crap!!! For I can still run windows 7 on a Macbook pro with bootcamp so have the best of both worlds windows if I have to absolutly use it and Apple for interneting and most things. I donno I'm just getting very tired and frustrated with this thing!!! It's been like five weeks I;ve jacked with this thing!! I AM ABOUT DONE! lol Thanks for the reply appreciate it!-Turbo.

Alright someone else said they thought they saw it in my port comm3 but I don't see it, so I may try comm3 and see if that works heck I donno I'm getting very tired and frustrated with this thing!! It's maybe easier then you think but try this, look for another USB cable, it's possible that you have a power only USB cable and not a power and communication USB cable, i read on another forum that there was a guy pulling his hear out of his head (probably you are doing the same at the moment) and changed the usb cable and everything works.
If you don't see scilabs in your device manger under com ports there is something wrong with the hardware connection. At the first time you will probably also see a notification on your screen that something it's connected.

Make sure you extract files from sI labs or uart files whatever .
Seriously it could be just tht simple.

Yeah I've read that too and I had about 20 of em and I KNOW one of them if not all of them are sync data cables as well as charging cables BUT...I went up to Radio Shack and purchased a freakin $20 one that I KNOW IS a sync data cable says it right on the box and it was twenty bucks vs. 5 to 10 for a charge cable. So I do not think that is the problem?? And there is not even "PORTS" in my device mgr?? There was at one time I saw it but it was for Libre Pilot and didn't have anything to do with cleanflight so I don't know why it is not putting the driver in the proper location???? I'm very confussed at this whole deal!! I've never in my life seen sometihing so darn easy be so freakin hard geeezzz!!!! All I'm asking is for the damn software to "see" the quad and flash and fly darn it and I'm sick of jacking with this thing for five weeks and a dozon forums and where I purchased it heck they even sent me another one and I pretty much know now it's probably fine it's whatever else thats wrong for the new one won't work either so I may sell all the Eachine JUNK I have and purchase something worthy of me owning ya know what I mean like a Vortex Po or maybe a 5" Alien and build a GOOD quad with a GOOD FC and software!! I'm really getting tired and frustrated with this thing I just don't get it!! Thanks for the reply but trust me I've tried I think all the obvious things unless I'm forgetting or do not know something I should or need to know other than that I'm totally confussed I'm following the instructions per two different good dudes on YouTube and mine just doesn't do what theirs does????? I"M LOST!!!! NEED HELP!! THX-Turbo.

Well I do?? I get the download, open it unzip it and click the .exe 64 bit for I'm using windows 10 and it runs it and says it's installed, so if it's installed when the configurator asks or needs it why doesnt it access it and use it and open the darn port???? heck in my device mgr I don't even have the tab "ports" in the tree!!! It used to be there and is there when I use Libre Pilot it opens the port for it? I just don't get it or understand but it is getting very frustrating and I'm starting to get mad now after five weeks and them sending me a new one at that and evedentally the first one was probably okay it's whatever else is going on I can't figure out?????? And I'm about to just selll ALL of my Eachine junk as it must be and purchase something of better quality like maybe the Vortex Pro or the 5" Alien from Rotor Riot they seem to like both of those and two of them fly the 5" alien so maybe that's the way to go? I know if I don't get this resolved by this weekend I'm selling the crap and geting one of the other two and darn it a dang Tarantis transmitter!!! What do you think about those transmtters? verses like the spectrum sat. ones and the Targus new one or any other one? Where I've read most use and love the tarantis and some like the new Targus I've ust hear it's a little wider than tarantis and isn't as good for thumbing the sticks as well as the tarantis they saty the Targus or whatever it's called is better for pinchers of the sticks so before I invest $200 in a transmitter I want to make sure I get what I want and what is good and will work with most ALL quads and the tarantis seems to always be one of the choices for BNF and ARF crafts. What do you think?? And or use? I'm tired of the FlySky and Eachine (Which quit also so I purcahsed the FlySky same rebranded radio) not being in the list of radios on most all the BNF and ARF quads!!! THX for your reply!!-Turbo.

Seriously If any of you have any idea what this problem could be PLEASE feel free to PM me or Email me from this post I check every day to see if anyone has the answer to this crazy things actions!! I desperately need some assistance I just don't know and am sick of it and just want it to fly if ANYONE knows anythig about this please give me a hand I WILL return the favor somehow some way!! I PROMISE!!! I need this five weeks of madness to END!!! lol Thanks!-Turbo.

I'm totally lost with what your talking about lol sorry lol i'm really not a big PC nut I use the crap out of mine every day, but I do NOT know all the technical and Developer things or code or any of that stuff lol. So I do not know what a print screen is? Do you mean like a screen shot?  I do know how and have the capability to do that if that's what you mean otherwise your going to have to spell it out for me for I'm not sure exactly what your referring to or talking about! lol I'm really sorry I wish I knew more let me tell ya lol but send me an email or here or whatever of what your talking about and I'll see if I can do that? screen shot is the same as a print screen, that way we can look what your PC is doing if you connect your quadcopter.

Hey everybody!! How goes it? Still suckin' for me lol hahahaha,  I tried again and made a video of it showing what I am doing with the driver file when I download it for the millionth time lol. I hope a few of you have about 8 minutes to watch and see if you might see something Im not doing or forgetting or don't even know I have to do, as far as I know and can tell I'm doing everything right but it's been five weeks off and on now screwing with this darn thing I've forgot half of what I've read I've read so much stuff on this stuff the Naze 32 and how to configure it. And I'm really not sure of the serial number and things of my Naze 32 or even really which one it is?? I'm thinking it's an F1something there is a chip on it that has this wrote on it and I figure thats which one it is but I can't find it anywhere with that exact number on it, and the Naze 32 that is on the Assassin 180 V2 is a specal one it's made especially for the assassin so there may be something different about it but I would think someones video would discuss this or mention it so I donno but what is wrote on one of the chips is---->>STM32F103CBT6  9906R 93 MYS 551 so does this matter or mean anything when it comes to programming the thing?? Here's my vid of trying again today to see if I could figure anything out if you have 8 minutes lol----------->>>>>>

Oh okay I thought that may be what you were referring to lol but wasn't sure yeah I'll take a screen shot of the device mgr and see if anyone can see anything! Hold on and I'll do it in just a second I've really not done it much so I'll have to kind of figure the program out again on how to do it but I think I remember. And yes I can tell your ALL trying to help me and you don't even know how much that means to me!! I've posted my problem on several forums and places and asked everyone I could and have got nothing from most of the forums except "you have to use a data cable not just a charge cable" Lord have mercy I DO at least know that damn much lol and I've got about twenty of them and I KNOW one of them if not all are data sync cables, but anyway I went to Radioi Shack anyway and purchased a $20 one a freakin twenty dollar USB cable and it says right on the box DATA SYNC and charging cable. So I'm PRETTY positive I have that much correct hahahahaha MAN!!! And I've gotten that A LOT!!!!! TRY A DATA CABLE!! Well I AM dang it!!! lol So give me a minute or two and I'll try t get a screen shot of my device MGR. Thanks again! And everyone is so cool on this forum it's AWESOME! I've gotten more help and attention to my problem here than anywhere!! You guys are great! And if one of you helps me out I will be in total debt to that person until I've repaid the favor!!!! It will be GREATLY appreciated and I WILL pay someone back somehow some way. OK let me get to that screen print!! Oh and I also posted another video of what I'm doing with the driver and copter if you would like to watch it it's about 8 minutes long. THX-Turbo Sad
