Thumbs Up
Hello all!

I have been flying stabilized drones for quite some time (like 500 flights with different Mavics) and I'm getting kinda bored!!
I also have a DX6 remote and 6 RC fixed wing planes.
This feels like the next adventure to me!!

I just ordered This HD CineBee with a DSMX receiver a couple days ago and The Recon V2 Fatshark Goggles.

I'm very excited to dip one toe into this hobby with these purchases!

I have spent about 3 hours in velicidrone and I am SO THANKFUL BECAUSE WOW IT'S REALLY TOUGH AT FIRST. but I have made lots of progress and continue to get better.

I've watched many videos of incredibly talented quad pilots and I would LOVE to have a legit gopro setup someday... but I think this is a good start!

I am super stoked to be a part of such a supportive forum.

Now comes my first question of many!

The Fatshark Goggles I bought come with a (I think) linear whip antenna with SMA connector.
What I'm trying to figure out is: are my goggles and drone compatible as it stands currently?
Or is the VTX on the drone linear? I couldn't figure that out from the specs listed on bang good.
or maybe... the drone's VTX doesn't matter if it's linear or circular?
I've read tons of how to's and still can't figure this out.
I am happy to spend up to 30 bucks on a new antenna for my goggles if someone has one to recommend OR if it's something I need to buy to make then compatible.

Thanks in advance for your time! I can't wait to get into this hobby!!!

Yes, both the antenna on the CineBee and the Recon goggles are Lenear Dipole antennas. These are matched types and will work together just fine. You can use a circular antenna on the goggles with the Dipole on the CineBee if you want and it will also work fine, but matched antenna types tend work best together. That said, a lot of people run circular antennas on their goggles and a dipole on their whoops, mainly because they also use their goggles with larger quads that run circular antennas and it's easier just to leave the circular antenna on the goggles all the time.

Thanks so much for your reply!
I appreciate you taking the time. Good to know that I won't see a huge change in reception quality with linear/circular
