Just introducing myself. Hi!
#1
Hello everyone! I am new to this forum and pretty new to quadcopter racing/ anything r/c related as a whole. I've just added my first year of experience into this hobby/sport. My girlfriend would say, addiction/obsession, which is true when I think of all the hours I've spent reading everything I can to learn everything I can about this hobby. I came into this with a background completely clear of tech and electronic knowledge. The only thing that made any sense was the construction part, show me a picture of how it is supposed to look and I'm confident if the pieces are there I can build it without following a set of how to steps. The FPV aspect is what hooked me, and it hooked me good. It started with DJI's Phantom 3, I found it amazing that I could fly a mile out while sitting on the porch. Than I flew Parrot's Bebop 2 and thought there was nothing cooler! It wasn't until I started to look up ways to Mod that drone that I found a whole new world, so to speak, that existed and was surprisingly hugely popular. FPV racing/freestyle drones was something I've never heard about until a year ago. When I saw what people were doing and what was available, I dove in head first and have been immersed in it since! And will continue to be for many more years to come. FPV is more than just a hobby for me, I've learned a lot about myself I can say. I never thought I'd have the skills I have today, or knew that I'd be able to program electronics, solder, understand tech jargon or have knowledge to understand electrical currents and meanings like I am able to today! FPV really opened my eyes to how fun it is to learn and be, what some friends call me, a "nerd" or "geek".

Anyways that's all for now. Thank you for reading if you did.

Hey Custom,

While you say you're new, a year of experience in FPV race quads kinda makes you one of the old experts I figure since the hobby is so new. Heck the guys who have been around for 2 or three years are pretty much the ancient founders lol.

Welcome to IntoFPV! Glad to have a fellow "nerd" around Smile I look forward to seeing more of your posts and hope that you enjoy the site.
