Jetson TX1
#1
Smile
Hi, anyone have any suggestions or ways to power Nvidia Jetson TX1 on board a drone along with flight controller? Is it possible by using a UBEC to power it ? I have a power distribution board as well.

I am new to drones but I know the basic set up for a quadcopter but if I wanted to add a computer on board like Jetson TX1 or raspberry pi, how can I power them?

Kindly guide me the best and proper way to power them on a drone.

Thank you very much. Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile

A quick search shows the TX1 can consume 10 Watts. At 5V (assuming it will operate at that), that will require 2 Amps current. Several PDBs have a 5V/3A regulator, so that might work as long as you are not using that juice too many other places. I think a step-down regulator would be a better idea though - like this: https://www.pololu.com/product/2850 .

Thank you for your suggestion, I will look into the step down regulator Big Grin

I will use the Tegra TX1 to do SLAM,but this is more on programming. My main goal now is setting up all the hardwares and make sure they will power on.

Thx again for you suggestions! Smile

That sounds cool - I hope you'll keep us updated with your progress. (You keep making me google stuff.) Big Grin
For everyone else here: SLAM - simulation localization and mapping.  Here's an example:
