Is it me or are these Cyclone props causing vibrations
#1
First post on this forum. Hey everyone.
I mainly into mini quads and like cruising in fields with some small freestyle movements. Not really into the Steele and Co stuff. Too fast and cannot really take advantage of the scenery. But respect for these guys!

It has been a while since I have been using the DAL Cyclone 5045 and 5046 three bladed props. I used to have HQ5040X3.
With the Cyclones I have a strange kind of Jello and it is harder to tune.

But when I go through the reviews on YT, people say nothing but good about them. Weird. I guess every quad is different, even if I have the same vibrations on both my quads.

Cheers.

Hey Hood, welcome to the forum, I don't have any experience with these props I'm afraid, just a quick welcome to the best FPV forum online!

PS, I like your sig!
Windless fields and smokeless builds

I have used the cyclones (45,46 and 50) on betaflight and kiss builds and they have been great so far. I havent had any big issues with jello on these props. How bad is it? what kind of equipment are you using? I would highly recommend using the rubber standoff softmounts for your FC. It works just as well or even better than silicone o rings and much better than Raceflight rubber inserts from my experience. I also find it easier to tune a stiff frame like a frame with separate arms and frame braces (Alien-style).

Thanks for your comment.

Well, it is pretty choppy. I have added a test video. It is doable but I would rather have a smoother flight.
Flying a QAV 5" with RS2205 Red Bottoms / Aikon 30 amp ESC Multishot / Betaflight F3 with BF 3.2
FC is Softmounted on these. So all lovely jubbly I should thing.
I have tried changing motors. It is the props...

Cheers.

Is it the old QAV210 with unibody bottom plate? 3mm? 4mm? could it be that the bottom plate is resonating? Like I mentioned earlier, I have had better luck with stiffer frames.

The rubber standoffs you posted are the one I was talking about Smile

My internet connection is pretty bad at the moment, but I'll have a look at it later

No it is the QAV 5 inch with the arms you have the screw on. So should be ok...

The QAV-R? I guess that should be fine.

Indeed, that is the one.
I am building an Chameleon 6 inch for the moment. Wonder how that one is going to fly...
