| IR block on Lens or sensor? |
 20-Feb-2017, 09:58 AM Just wondering, if IR blocked cameras, has the IR block part on the lense or the internal camera sensor? I want to know, so I am able to switch lenses for low-light setups. If it's on the sensor then I don't think it's possible. 20-Feb-2017, 10:01 AM Not sure about other cameras, but On the 1177 (and most CCD cameras) the IR filter is applied directly to the sensor. It is not on the lens. If you remove the lens, you will notice a reddish sheen to the front of the sensor. That's the IR filter.  Typically, IR block lenses are for CMOS cameras. |
