In desperate need of prop guards for BAT QX105
#1
I am in need of prop guards for BAT QX105 which uses the 10x20mm Coreless Motors with 66mm props.  I am willing to buy 2 full sets so I have spares.

Here's some posted on thingiverse (by painless360): http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1856428

If you don't have a printer, there's buy link there as well.

Thanks that is perfect! Everything is all lined up now order my first FPV Quad! Though quite the scam at $5.00 handling fee and $5.00 shipping fee.. $10 for ground shipping that has a 10 day expected delivery.. thingiverse has quite the scam for the shipping fee they charge. Oh well $13.23 and I bought 2 sets so I should not require anymore at that price.

Ok again I am still in desperate need of prop guards badly I have almost crashed drone into myself a few times.  Thingiverse had to refund me because the idiot never shipped the prop guards out so I am in real desperate need.  Anyone here with a 3D Printer that would be willing to print me up some.. I wanted 2 sets f them from thingiverse and willing to pay by pay pal for someone to print them up and ship them to me.

molitar, I was just looking at photos of the QX105 and it's probably lucky you couldn't buy those.  The ones I linked were for bare motor tops, and they wouldn't have worked with the mounts that come with the QX105.

A couple of guards designed specifically for the QX105 have been recently added to thingiverse, but not sure either one is acceptable.

http://www.thingiverse.com/search?q=bat+qx105

The first one looks designed better, but it doesn't look like the guards extend past the tips of the props.  The second looks too fragile.  I would be willing to print and send either one of those to you, but I think I could design something better if I had exact measurements (digital caliper exact).  For simple guards, I would need the outer diameter of the plastic motor housing (underneath the frame), and the exact width of the vertical part of the housing (that holds the wires I presume).  If you want that, post the dimensions here and I'll put a design up for your approval (it's the 3D printing forum, so others might benefit from the discussion).  [If you would rather just have one of the two above, PM me your shipping address and we'll talk privately.]

Thanks I was about to order a caliper so I definitely could get you the sizings you need as well as any close ups of the motor mounts and that.  I really appreciate it.. thanks.

motor mount screws 1.4mm
screw holes that mount the motor are 13.75mm at center

Short side of motor mount to the bottom of frame 16.1mm
Long side of motor mount to bottom of frame 20.63mm
motor mount sticks up past top of the frame by 4.12mm
carbon frame width where screw holes are located 18.4mm
motor mount width 11.54mm
motor mount width where wire tunnel is 13.48mm
wire tunnel is 3.9mm wide

molitar, here's my first draft.  I haven't test printed it yet, so I'm not sure it will print (and I don't know how much it will weigh yet).  It is designed to go on top of the frame, between the frame and motor mount.  It will require an additional 1mm of screw length (your current screws might handle the extra thickness).  This particular mount is for motor 2 (right front looking from behind).  My file is easy to adjust for the other motors (the rear frames are at 45 degrees so there is no difference between those two).  The height of the guard rim is 10mm above the CF plate.  Don't know if that's enough, but it's easy to adjust my files.  Let me know what you think.

Edit: There may be a bit of optical illusion from the screen-shots. The arms are NOT angled up - they are flat.

I just completed a test print.  It weighs about 1.5 grams so a set will add 6 grams to your quad.  It feels pretty sturdy, but I'm concerned about the dimensions of the indents for the motor mounts.  Can you get me a measurement across the screw tabs that stick out (as shown below).

While you are at it, how far is the propellor plane above the CF plate?

Good find Konrad!  Those are new.  Hey molitar, those are cheaper and lighter than I can do - but I'll still print if you want (I know how you are feeling about Banggood Big Grin   They are probably injection molded as well, so they probably won't break very easily.  Let me know.
