imax b6ac lipo charger (multiple charge)
#1
Hey guys,

Quick question, I have an imax b6ac charger, that currently charges 1 battery at time.

Can I solder multiple connectors to charge batteries in parallel ?
If yes is there a limit in terms of number of batteries ?

I won´t be able to balance the batteries doing this I guess, but balance is something I usually do every 15-20 charges only.

Can someone confirm this is possible with no risk of damaging battery or charger?

Thanks

I would just get a cheap parallel charging board like this: https://www.banggood.com/Amass-XT60-Plug...50883.html

They have others under $10 depending on your connectors. If your charger is the 80W charger, you just have to be sure not to exceed power/current ratings. (Lots of youtube videos on this.)

You can balance charge batteries in parallel and you can connect as many as you like, it will just take much more time to charge them obviously

Thank you guys for the inputs.

Regarding the time taken, it isn´t a concern, the goal of this is just reduce the manual work of charging one by one. I can put them together to charge overnight and that would work just fine for me.

I´l buy this one from banggood, but it takes about 40 days to get in brazil, in the meantime I´ll build one to charge 3 or 4 at the same time, let´s see what happens !

You might check out Oscar's article: https://oscarliang.com/parallel-charging-multiple-lipo/

There are some safety considerations that you need to be aware of. (Batteries need to be very close in voltage before connecting, no mixing types, etc.). It's a good article.

Good luck!

Please do not charge lipos unattended overnight when you are sleeping. It is really risky

Well said!

Waking up in the middle of a fire is not something you want to experience.
