iflight succex f4 1s aio and flysky rc
#1
Hey guys. Little bit frustrated over here as non of my order seems to be lining up. Trying to do my first build. a 65mm whoop style build, im 3d printing the frame.

So my first question is will the iflight succex f4 1s aio board be ok with my flysky receiver? the instructions dont have flysky wiring but it has frsksy sbus. the flysky receiver coming supports ibus or sbus so im assuming i can just wire it to the board as a sbus and everything will be ok?

the board supports vtv as well so I got a runcam nano 2. Issue there is they both seem to have the same connector. Im hoping something like whats in this link will get them connected?

im assuming the happymodel 0802-kv19000 motors wont be a issue?

thanks for anyhelp

Your FC will support most serial protocol receiver including IBUS. More accurately, it is the flight software (Betaflight) will support your receiver as long as you have an UART (serial port) to wire it too. Think of the FC like a personal computer (which it is). You can load Windows, Linux or if you are really hardcore Apple OS. Depending on the OS, you can on use certain components due to drivers. Hope the analogy makes sense.

So you can't wire IBUS to a SBUS pad. A SBUS pad is special UART RX that inverts the signal. You don't want that. You will be wiring the IBUS to a normal UART RX (eg. RX2)

I don't see any connector on the VTX. There are three pads that you will need to solder the camera harness too. You will need to cut the harness that came with the camera to proper length. And solder the 5V, ground and video signal.

The motor spec will be fine for what you are building.

FlySky or FrSky or whatever support is up to Betaflight or whatever firmware you are using.

Physically, to the FC (F4/F7) its all the same - just some data over UART.
Typically, FlySky is connected to ANY FC UART RX.

In rare cases with IBUS Telemetry (Fli10 receiver), like FPort, connected to TX pin.

ok just to make sure. the wiring diagram shows sbus wiring for a frysky receiver as sbus to r21 so is that how i wire this. sorry for all the questions i just dont wanna get this wrong.

What FC do you have? I am not sure what R21 is.

Edit : I forgot you mention your FC. The R21 is actually R2I (RX2 inverted). On your receiver, you can wire it to the R2I and use the SBUS protocol. Or wire to RX2 and use IBUS. Your receiver is switchable.

Ok I think I'm starting to get this. Wishing I just waited for a flysky integrated one, finding space for all this on a micro whoop frame is though! Should have it air born by the weekend tho.
Thanx for the help hopefully I've got it from here as long as I don't get stumped on the set up

Ok almost there. 1 last stump. Everything seems to be working in betaflight. I can see the rx changing values from controller input. Unhook the computer and i got nothing motors wont turn or anything?

Update. Got it figured out mostly. The stick down was to high to let it arm. Now it arms but everything is spinning when armed which i believe have something to do with calibrating end points. More research tomorrow

OK still need help. hopefully someones still looking at this.

1. i was under the assumption that a camera was a camera and any cam would work with the vtx. Is this not the case? betaflight comes up in the goggles but nothing picture

2. when trying to take off the motors cut off right at the point of lift off? i can hold the drone steady and the motors will reach full power and not cut out. so it seems the gyro is cutting power?

ok solved the camera issue - wired it wrong. shouldnt have assumed i could just match some colors.....

Still having flight issues. Im wondering if the flight controller is shutting down because of unexpected movement. When trying to take off in my hand it feels like it wants to spin on the yaw axis and does so as soon as i let go. Im suspecting this is because i 3d printed the frame and the motors are not perfectly lined up. (you can see a slight tilt in a couple) would this cause a fault in the fc and cut the motors?

Flip out on take off ? May be double check the props are installed correctly, d shots motors direction, FC orientation in BF 3 D model.
