121 If you were previously using the plug/jack on the flight controller that is designated for the receiver, then no- that plug runs to t2 and r2, which is the same pads you’d be soldering to.
You’d want to find another unused uart.
Some flight controllers have a pull down resistor on the uart that they designate for the receiver, which doesn’t play nice with ELRS. That’s probably why they were suggesting a different uart.
However, if you are 100% sure that it was working on that uart via the plug on ELRS v2, it should be fine on ELRS v3.
Double check that your receiver wiring is correct. It should be connected rx to tx, and tx to rx.
In betaflight, on the ports tab, disable “serial rx” on ALL uarts except for uart2. Enable it for this uart, and do not select anything in the drop down menus to the left of it. Set all to disabled or auto. Don’t forget to hit save.
In the receiver tab, select “Serial (via uart)” as the receiver protocol, and select “CRSF” as the receiver provider. Don’t forget to hit save.
If that still doesn’t work, then go ahead and try soldering it to an unused uart. Try uart5 (r5 & t5).
As a side note, that red wire going to the 5v pad next to pad r2 doesn’t look like it has a good connection, and could be in danger of coming loose and shorting something out.
Dangerous operations.

121 Also, you will need to have a battery plugged in to provide your receiver with power, so make sure you have one plugged in when you’re checking for stick movement in betaflight.
Make sure you also have a fan blowing over your vtx (and a vtx antenna installed) anytime you have a battery plugged in on the bench to keep it from overheating.
Dangerous operations.

0 Thank you. I got it working. Now I have another issue that will post separately.
