Iflight A65 spin motors but doesn´t fly
#1
hi. I have an ifllight a65 that I just  changed the fc.  I had configurated all in betaflight and it seems very ok, except for the quad doens´t fly. motors spin right, but even using the throtle at max power, it doesnt take off. I tried to use some CLI i´ve found in the forum but no succes. What is the matter?

Is it the same exact model flight controller that the quad originally had equipped?

Yes. I bought with integrated vtx. In other hand, even if it's not the same, i could set up from zero, and use as a 65mm whoop, couldn't I? The question here is why it doesn't fly with everything working and apparently configured. I can even control the speed of throttle and the thing doesn't take off.
I used one original cli to configurate and some cli that I found in betaflight. I also inverted the motors direction and tried to use some dshot combinations. Happens the same.

The reason I asked was because I tried to drop a new FC into an existing build. It all matched up electrically including the motors only drawing 8A-12A max which the FC was rated for.
As well as it running off 2S
But it would do the same. Motors would arm and spin up.
But it would never get off the ground.
And at max throttle it would spin up then shut down.
I was never able to figure out why and I didn't pursue it...

I'm sorry I'm not much help.
My only suggestion is for you to post your CLI dump and diff all. I'm sure more experienced members will take a look at it and may offer assistance.

So we have the exactly same issue...
This drone never was good, even when it was original... It kinda shake and turn off motors from nothing.
In fact, my tasting with FPV world is not so good, except for avata.
Thank you for answering.

It looks like you are not the only ones having problems with the A65. I don't know if you have the original or V2 version but the reviewer in the video on this page https://www.getfpv.com/iflight-alpha-a65...og-v2.html had problems with the original version.

If you can't get it going, I would suggest trying a Mobula 6 or 7, or maybe a Moblite7. I have a Mobula 7 and two Moblite7's and have never had any problems with them.

I have also had troubles with two iFlight FC's and have quit purchasing their products.

2S Mobula 7 would be a good choice. Good for indoors and outdoors.

Aside from that, maybe a HM Cine8 (2" DIY kit that comes with everything, including a 3S Lipo) for about $120. They are cheap, run 2-3S and come in a build it yourself kit, but without any soldering. To extend it you can install it on to a 2.5" Twig Frame and get a mini ripper that actually has way too much power on 3S but is a lot of fun to fly. As the original build / cinewhoop it is fine indoors and outdoors, just a bit sluggish due to weight.

I have/fly a Meteor85, Meteor65 and Cine8 (Clone). Not had any issues really with any of them.

I just get a mobula 7 1s and having much fun with it. And a meteor 85. A have 2 meteor 65 one regular and one pro with a am having some trouble. But I like them very much too. In the future, I want to buy the hd versions of mobula 6 and 7. I'm thinking about mobula 7 2s, but I'm afraid it could be too strong for me. This mobula 7 1s I have is still too fast...

Try a HM Cine8, transplanted on to a BetaFPV Twiglet 2.5" frame with CNHL 3S Lipos.  That is quite rapid. Smile

If you ever feel the need to go to something slightly bigger (and faster), I can recommend the above.

TBH, 2S is just a number.  There are many avenues to tame the speed.  In betaflight, motor output limit is one, throttle scaling is another.  You can make it as timid as you want.  I used a 60% motor output limit on my Meteor85 when i first got it.  but now only 90%.  My Cine8 Clone runs 90% and it does some crazy speed on 3S, but flies really well on 2S.
