I need help with soldering FrSKY X4RSB to FC&PDB
#16
I have it in D16 and done all as you said and it is basically the same as before, I'm guessing it will be the firmware, I've read that could be a problem, my taranis is EU LBT version and receiver most likely has international, so I'll trying flashing it, I'll do it on the next weekend when I have some time.

Indeed that's very important if you are working with the X-series receivers from FrSky, if you have an EU version TX then all your receiver must also have EU firmware on it.
You can update the firmware for your RX very easy with your TX.

Radio setup wizard detects the sticks but it won't detect any switches at all, nevertheless I skipped them and it works and shows RC Input green UNTIL I switch the radio off and on, and then it is in yellow with this message [RC Input: Warning - Error Code: No RX].

My parts are:
- Taranis X9D LBT (EU version)
- FrSky X4RSB receiver flashed with new version X4R_LBT_build151118 is for X4R and X4RSB with CPPM function already integrated.
- BrainFPV RE1 flashed by the dRonin to newest version as well Quixote I think.
- dRonin GCS I use now is Artifice

Another thing is that radio binds with it but the green LED is slightly flickering, look at this video below, I have no idea if this has any meaning but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I've included screenshots from dRonin GCS with my parameters after the wizard is done.

Any idea what is wrong?

Hello FateTrader,

First of all the green flickering on your receiver is good, it tells you that it's communication with your radio so that's good.

Now for your RX output to the FC, i don't have any experience with dRonin so if I say something strange my apologize.
But did your bind your RX in SBUS mode (without the jumper installed), if you did it first in PPM and then remove the jumper the SBUS will not work good.

Also what also very strange is, is that your receiver input start at 172 and only for pitch at 1811. Normally at cleanflight/ betaflight we use the range from 1000 to 2000, i don't know if that is also the way for dRonin so that is something you can figure out. but it isn't normal that your pitch is so much different then the other channels.

Hopefully you can do something with this information.

Hi Ikkuh,

I have just figured it out!!! after 3 days… :|

I know it will sound ridiculous to you but I'm a total noob, it's my first drone, first radio, everything is the first time so after actually bricking my taranis by flashing international firmware with OpenTX which btw told me it wasn't compatibile with my taranis (I don't understand why it even downloaded it in the first place…) nevertheless I managed re-flash it back to the original working state.

Then in my despair I flashed Betaflight on my board, which btw supports it so I thought, eh what the hell. This didn't help at all so I was back to square one.

Then I accidentally glimpsed on Reddit someone talking about this switches issue and someone mentioned Taranis mixer so it got me curious and I went there to set up one switch as originally after I created model it only uses 4 channels AND IT WORKED, THIS WAS IT! what a rookie mistake (I suppose it is) Smile

Drone is now working!
Cheers

Hi FateTrade,

It isn't noobish, its the curiosity to get it working without reading all the stuff and try to get i working haha.

But good to hear that you have get everything working as it should be.
Maybe you can watch these videos to get your Taranis know better how it's working.
