TBH this is all just from research, as I said I only have toy grade quads and TX's...
I am however looking to obtain my RPASL (Remote Pilot Aviation System License) in the next 2 years with the hope of getting into anti poaching (I live in South Africa see,) and other aerial photography.

I was 1st considering the FS-i6, also don't want to shell out $300 for a taranis, but then came across the devo 10... With deviation firmware allowing use of different protocols the number of models this can be used with is quite amazing and with 10+ channels it shouldn't need to be upgraded until I am actually able to make some money out of flying. Lots of people seem happy with the i6 if you are just flying for fun, those that complain about it seem to have used Futaba or taranis so have downgraded, where as we just don't know what we're missing!

Re the goggles / screen, I personally would rather go for a 5" screen with the higher pixel count as the quality of camera's is never going to get worse, so to start out with the resolution of your camera matches your headset, but if you get a better camera, you are now restricted to bad image quality by your headset. Again if you don't like FPV and it takes you 6 months to get round to selling your headset likely all the camera's available will offer better quality than your screen is able to provide...

Opinions are like arseholes, though, everyone has one...

Considering your budget, the setup is good.  Yes there are better of everything, but if you start with what you can afford, and end up loving it - then later when you can afford more, you will get those (but I'd be willing to bet you always keep that original setup that got you into the hobby, and even fly it occasionally because of what you learned from it).  I say go for it! Big Grin

I'm also probably going to pick up the EV800's instead of the furibee because of the increased resolution and the detachable screen is nice. Again, thanks for all the help! Smile
