0 Hi
I am a newbee who is interested in building drones. I would appreciate if someone can guide me in my quest to build a better successful dronee. I want to build a hexacopter . where is the best place to get the necessary parts?
what is the maximum range of transmitter for 400 to 900mhz transmitter ?
and can i also use a lalptop or ipdad to fly my drone?
What type of camera do I use for live feed/transmitting? Also , I want the drone to follow me automatically as i give a tour of the area or when going hiking etc
Thanks

72 Welcome to the forum!
That's a very complicated and advanced set of features for a first multirotor craft. Yes, it is possible to build something like you describe, but I really wouldn't call it a good match for your first ever build.
How long do you expect this craft to stay in the air for?
If all you want is something that will film non-stablised video and follow you around, you might be better off just buying a Hubsan H501S. If you want professional quality video, you'll be looking at something much, much more expensive like a DJI Mavic or similar.
Making something yourself will end up costing at least $750 if you build it with the cheapest components you can get at somewhere like Banggood and probably as much as $2000 if you want to build a high quality camera platform. It will also require you to learn lots! Making something this complicated yourself is much more than just getting some answers to a few questions and putting a bunch of parts together.

31 hi Toms! Your list sounds very ambitious and since I really went more the direction of racing I couldn't begin to imagine where to look for answers to your questions. All the same welcome to the forum! I hope that you have a ton of fun with the hobby.
I have seen what looked like a custom built Octi' once but the guy seemed kinda like he wanted to fly by himself based on where he was positioned at the park so I didn't really talk to him much. It definitely looked like an interesting piece of equipment! I'd love to see pics of yours after you get it built.
