Human Proofing (Me Proofing) my FS-i6
#1
Alright, so I've identified an issue with myself and my mode two FS-i6.

When I get into a situation where I am trying to disarm my quad quickly I noticed a tendency to punch my throttle almost like I was panicking but I wasn't. Today I caught the problem.

Originally I had my arm switch on the right over top of my stick. I noticed when I needed to disarm I was instinctively hitting my left side switches so I moved my arm to the left side—still need to flip those switches upside down but that is another story.

Anyway, today I realized that while my finger was going for my left side disarm switch I was hitting the throttle and knocking it upwards. So there's my punch out problem.

So now I'm looking for best solutions.

Do I convert the controller to Mode 1 and relearn the controls. Let my left disarm instinct stand?

Or, do I leave it Mode 2 and try to train out the left finger issue?

It seems like it'd be better to make the controller match my natural reactions. Any reason not to?

Keep the mode 2. Trying to relearn the controls will be much harder than controlling your disarming reflex.

You could practice your disarm sequence with the radio turned off to build up muscle memory, it will be far easier than to relearn everything else if you switch to mode1

Alright, yeah I'm leaning the same way now. Human-factors-wise it seems like part of my problem is that I fly with my thumbs rather than a pinch. If I pinched the throttle then my disarm finger would start out on the same side of the stick as the arming switch thus reducing my odds of hitting the throttle.
