HQ 5x4x3
#1
I tried some of the HQ props and I must say I didn't care for them.  They felt sloppy and slow and of course I broke one landing in grass (sort of land/crash).
I think I'll stick to my Dal Cyclones or RaceKraft 5x51x3.  I also tried a set of the Dal 5x4x3 bull nose and liked those.

I have a couple packs of the RaceKraft 5x51x2 that I'm looking forward to trying.

Any props you love?

I like trying all different kinds.

Well yeah if that's the props you have been flying then you'd be taking a big step down in thrust... People stick by the 5x4x3 because it's always available and flys consistently at least for Acro flying...

it really depends on what motors you run with them..
HQ 5x4x3 are famous being softer and smoother... more and more people actually use it for racing nowadays because the higher RPM for top speed..
my favorite prop for free style right now is Cyclone 5045x3. Very grippy and tons of thrust. But it requires a bit more tuning than the 5040x3 though...

One quad I'm using the racerstar 2305 2600, and Emax 2204 2300 on the other.

I really love the Dal cyclones, and the RaceKraft 5051's but I dont like the look of the RaceKraft so I stick to the cyclones.

You won't like my answer... 2-blade hq5045 and hq5545, and they break easy. Big Grin

Traditional two-bladed props FTW!!

Far less floaty and much more precise.

The KingKong 5045 bullnose 2-blade props are great, even though they're as cheap as chips.

Just sad the hq5545 are quite heavy... I think ummagawd tested a polycarb version once which is probably lighter but i've not seen those in shops yet. Sad

I'm waiting for a set of two-blade 5050 cyclones right now. Those are going to be interesting to try!

I'm all ears to hear what you think of those. A 5" pitch sounds quite strong! I'd love to see how much they load a motor.

Where from? I might get some and put them on the thrust stand...

Surveilzone.com. they got both two and three blade version. As far as I know, the pitch isn't really 50 on those props, just a name they gave them as they are more aggressive than the previous versions

The OG HQ props are starting to grow on me. They are pretty smooth and predictable. I adjusted a throttle curve to give me the illusion of more punch. I've also been using an extreme throttle curve on some of my 3s batteries. I like the way it works. Anyone else program a throttle curve?

Do you mean using a throttle curve on your radio?

Yes i always push the lower end of throttle curve a bit to have a quicker response when coming out of zero throttle moves.
