They felt sloppy and slow and of course I broke one landing in grass (sort of land/crash). I think I'll stick to my Dal Cyclones or RaceKraft 5x51x3. I also tried a set of the Dal 5x4x3 bull nose and liked those. I have a couple packs of the RaceKraft 5x51x2 that I'm looking forward to trying. Any props you love? I like trying all different kinds. People stick by the 5x4x3 because it's always available and flys consistently at least for Acro flying... • Posts: 5,315 Threads: 672 Likes Received: 3,155 in 1,743 posts Likes Given: 2,030 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 it really depends on what motors you run with them.. HQ 5x4x3 are famous being softer and smoother... more and more people actually use it for racing nowadays because the higher RPM for top speed.. my favorite prop for free style right now is Cyclone 5045x3. Very grippy and tons of thrust. But it requires a bit more tuning than the 5040x3 though... I really love the Dal cyclones, and the RaceKraft 5051's but I dont like the look of the RaceKraft so I stick to the cyclones. Traditional two-bladed props FTW!! Far less floaty and much more precise. The KingKong 5045 bullnose 2-blade props are great, even though they're as cheap as chips. • Posts: 1,149 Threads: 50 Likes Received: 704 in 450 posts Likes Given: 1,189 Joined: Sep 2016 Reputation: 30 (18-May-2017, 03:43 PM)rryyyaann Wrote: hmmm.... sounds interesting. I think ummagawd tested a polycarb version once which is probably lighter but i've not seen those in shops yet. • Posts: 947 Threads: 66 Likes Received: 350 in 248 posts Likes Given: 164 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 34 I'm waiting for a set of two-blade 5050 cyclones right now. Those are going to be interesting to try! I'm all ears to hear what you think of those. A 5" pitch sounds quite strong! I'd love to see how much they load a motor. Where from? I might get some and put them on the thrust stand... • Posts: 947 Threads: 66 Likes Received: 350 in 248 posts Likes Given: 164 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 34 Surveilzone.com. they got both two and three blade version. As far as I know, the pitch isn't really 50 on those props, just a name they gave them as they are more aggressive than the previous versions Posts: 164 Threads: 36 Likes Received: 83 in 46 posts Likes Given: 124 Joined: May 2017 Reputation: 4 19-May-2017, 04:23 AM (This post was last modified: 19-May-2017, 04:24 AM by rryyyaann.) The OG HQ props are starting to grow on me. They are pretty smooth and predictable. I adjusted a throttle curve to give me the illusion of more punch. I've also been using an extreme throttle curve on some of my 3s batteries. I like the way it works. Anyone else program a throttle curve? Yes i always push the lower end of throttle curve a bit to have a quicker response when coming out of zero throttle moves. • |
