How to troubleshoot with a multimeter
#1
Hi Guys, so I have an Aaris explorer 280 long range 5" freestyle quad flashed with iNav. After a crash one day the front right motor quit working. I ordered an esc but swapped it out to no effect. I just got a new motor in and same thing. Before I installed the motor the old one would occasionally randomly give the last 2 beeps and start turning but sounded really loud almost like it was grinding. I'm well trained on how to use a multimeter as it is one of my most used tools at my day job. I'm just not sure what to even test to figure out where the voltage starts/ stops and what V it should be reading. Does anyone have any tips on how to troubleshoot these issues with a meter or possibly in iNav? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

To trouble shoot this issue.. first check the motor screws with the multimeter.. see if any of them have continuity to any of the esc / motor wire pads.. they should not.. if u do.. ur motor screws are contacting the windings (some motors u can’t see under them)..
Take the new esc and install them on the quad in a location you KNOW. Is good.. check it first and confirm.. if the new motor/esc works as it should .. it will be a fc issue

UPDATE: Now when i power up fc the #2 motor consitantly issues the last 2 beeps about 20 sec after the other 3 motors and then spins up at full RPM. Any thoughts? Anyone?
